The Resy Guide to the 2025 James Beard Award Nominees

This year’s semifinalists for the James Beard Foundation Awards have officially been revealed, with many of the country’s top restaurant industry professionals getting their share of love.

It’s a robust crop this year, from Best New Restaurant nominees like Penny in New York and Vecino in Detroit, to iconic restaurants like Galit in Chicago and Kalaya in Philadelphia — and chefs like Rod Lassiter and Parnass Savang of Atlanta’s Talat Market, Jesus Cervantes of L.A.’s Damian, and pizza whisperer Dan Richer of Razza in Jersey City, N.J. And there’s plenty of kudos for great wine and beverage programs at places like Miami’s Macchialina Taverna Rustica and Pluck Wine Bar & Restaurant in New Orleans, along with professionals like sake whiz Alyssa Mikiko DiPasquale of The Koji Club just outside Boston, bar talent Kursten Berry of Twisted Soul Cookhouse and Pours in Atlanta, and pastry chef extraordinaire Camari Mick of Raf’s in New York.

This year’s class reflects some of the best that restaurants have to offer, and it underscores how remarkable this era of food and drink is in America today — at a moment when restaurants everywhere need our support.
