Resy Presents The Women of Food

Resy is pleased to present its second annual The Women of Food, a seven-night chef series featuring eight critically acclaimed female cooks in some of the country’s best dining cities.

Following its 2018 debut in San Francisco, The Women of Food will boast an expanded national footprint, visiting each of the participating chefs’ restaurants over seven consecutive weeks.

The series will bring to life The Women of Food theme: Behind Every Great Restaurant is a Woman. Each fête will feature female collaborators selected by the host chef, ranging from other local chefs that they admire to notable ceramicists. It promises to be a special event, with food, drink, conversation, and provisions provided by female-led brands Milk Bar, Great Jones, and RAMONA.

Trailblazing chef Jessica Koslow will kick off the series on April 2nd at a brand-new event space within her iconic Los Angeles café, Sqirl. She’ll be joined by Gabriela Cámara—chef-owner of acclaimed eateries Contramar (Mexico City) and Cala (San Francisco) and Koslow’s partner in their forthcoming restaurant, Onda—meaning guests will have the first taste of a menu shaped by Contramar’s iconic seafood dishes and Sqirl’s beloved seasonal approach.

A celebration of global female influences will unfold at the wildly creative chef Debbie Gold’s Tied House, in Chicago. Alongside her friend and Michelin-starred chef Carrie Nahabedian (formerly of Naha), she’ll feature dishes that explore the ways in which travel impacts the way we eat, and how women across many cultures have shaped their native cuisines.

In honor of the Laotian New Year, chef Seng Luangrath will pay homage to the women who have encouraged her culinary passion, including her mother and grandmother who taught her to cook, and the ladies who sell traditional eats on the streets of her home city of Vientiane, Laos. D.C.’s Thip Khao guarantees a night of festivity.

These collaborations, plus more, as The Women of Food establishes roots from city to city.
