The 10 Restaurants That Defined Atlanta Dining in 2022

By

In a strong year for dining, what were the absolute standouts?  We asked our contributors to the Resy Hit List to share their top 10 dining experiences from this year in their city — restaurants and meals that left an impression, and helped to define the state of American dining right now. Please welcome back our Best of The Hit List for 2022. (You can find other cities’ top picks here.)

Let’s start with some truth: Lots of new restaurants arrived in Atlanta in 2022, and we certainly weren’t lacking in places to find a meal before the year began.

Yet many restaurants here, new and old, made magic happen in 2022. Their arrival and survival reassured all who love Atlanta that regardless of the gigantic and growing buffet our city sometimes resembles, we’re a culinary community on the come-up. A wealth of Atlanta chefs, bartenders, owners, and staffers insist on the highest standards in hospitality.

At the same time, as new developments rose around the city, established restaurateurs grew their empires, food-loving culture continued to take hold, and ambitious culinary creatives rolled the entrepreneurial dice in the city that’s never too busy to eat. The onslaught of openings made highlighting Atlanta restaurants quite a challenge — you might say our cups and plates ran-eth over — but with inquisitive appetites and plenty of digestifs, we dined our way to some decisions.

Here are 10 of the Atlanta restaurants that most defined dining this year. May they keep on cookin’ for years to come.
