Resy is very excited to be supporting George Mendes and his team at Aldea on the launch of “My Portugal: Recipes and Stories,” the chef’s first cookbook. As of today, Resy users are getting exclusive mobile access to a private book release party on October 7th. Tickets are $75 per person.
Depending on how one thinks about Aldea, and attacks the menu, a meal here can tilt towards Portuguese tradition or skew more avant garde. Both courses yield incredibly satisfying experiences. New York Magazine named Aldea’s “arroz de pato” one of the best paellas in the city. Other restaurants operating at this level are more loud about it, but these guys are perfectly content to be quietly killing it.
The book party will include a cocktail reception, passed canapés, a suckling pig carving station, open kitchen interactions, specialty cocktails, and wines by top Portuguese producers. In addition to eating and drinking like a king, everyone in attendance will receive a signed copy of the cookbook.
