The 10 Restaurants That Defined Miami Dining in 2022

By

In a strong year for dining, what were the absolute standouts?  We asked our contributors to the Resy Hit List to share their top 10 dining experiences from this year in their city — restaurants and meals that left an impression, and helped to define the state of American dining right now. Please welcome back our Best of The Hit List. (You can find other cities’ top picks here.)

As we close out 2022, our hearts and bellies are full as we reflect on everything South Florida’s restaurant scene has brought us this year. We’ve seen an influx of national restaurant groups expanding to our market (including Mario Carbone’s Carbone Miami and Phillip Frankland Lee’s Sushi By Scratch); long-standing Miami institutions getting makeovers (Fox’s Lounge, John Martin’s Pub and Mayfair Grill); and the rise of new pizza joints (from Old Greg’s to Miami Slice and Vice City Pizza) proving that Miami can hold its own against the best pizza cities in the U.S.

It was also the year that Michelin came to town – with acknowledgment of long-time grinders of the local food scene, like Boia De and Itamae – among more than a dozen deserving others.

It’s an exciting time to be dining in Miami, and we wanted to highlight 10 of the restaurants we loved the most this year. It’s impossible to choose – but you can’t go wrong with these. We’ll tell you why. So, please welcome our Best of the Hit List.
