Kat Hong

Los Angeles Contributor

Kat writes about restaurants, foodways, and the broader dining culture. She was born and raised in Hilo, Hawai’i (home to exactly three Resy restaurants) and now lives in Los Angeles, California (where there are 5 billion Resy restaurants) — she’s also awful at numbers and math. Besides Resy, Kat’s writing has appeared in Food & Wine, Eater L.A., Synonym Magazine, and The Infatuation L.A. Her food writing career began in the second grade, when she reviewed the macaroni salad at Nori’s Saimin & Snacks and praised the local restaurant for “not using too much mayonnaise.”
