Pastis Meatpacking District
Breakfast in Meatpacking
Before checking out the Whitney Museum of American Art, head to this New York City icon for your first full meal of the day. New York certainly has no shortage of excellent French restaurants, but Pastis holds a special place in New Yorkers’ hearts and stomachs, having been the sceney spot that invigorated this same neighborhood, first in 1999 and again, in 2019, when it reopened. You’ll find classic fare, executed exceptionally well, from eggs and soldiers and avocado tartine to a Gruyère omelette and croque madame, in a charming space that’s worthy of its reputation as a “set designer’s dream of a bistro.”
