“Top Chef” finalist Sherry Cardozo has worked in some of our city’s finest establishments (Per Se, Le Cirque) and brings her talents to this cozy, 28-seat tasting spot. Do know there’s a focus on being low-waste and the menu is ever-rotating, with a strong greenmarket sensibility.

It’s an enormous three-story Chinatown spot whose name stands for “things I need.” We’d say you definitely need as many of the inventive cocktails and dishes as you can fit on your table.

There’s a lot to love at Chamber, whether you’re in the mood for cocktails and creative small bites or karaoke and bottles of soju. No matter what you choose, the lighting is low and the vibes are high.

It’s the second location of a luxe, ritzy Sicilian-style bar, complete with a lovely tile backsplash and a long list of specialty cocktails. Bring a date — the space is intimate enough that you’ll be able to snuggle up.

Head here for Georgian classics in a sun-filled space on the Upper West Side. Come with a few friends so you can try more of the cheesy breads and dumplings.

A Miami see-and-be-seen staple, Motek heads into New York’s Greenwich Village with the same all-day brunch menu of Mediterranean dishes. Know that like its southern sisters, the dress code here is upscale casual.

It’s a bright, airy spot in Queens that serves an exceptional Turkish and Mediterranean menu. Know that anything that comes out of their brick oven should take priority on your order.

It’s down-home Brazilian cuisine in the cozy space to match. Don’t forget the caipirinhas.

When you’re in need of some good old-fashioned Italian comfort food in Midtown, it’s hard to beat Lattanzi. They’ve been open for decades, serving up all the classics in their brick-lined space.

It’s a Russian spot whose founders included the dancer Mikhail Baryshnikov and Nobel Prize-winning poet Joseph Brodsky. That aside, the pelmeni, salo, and Olivier salad are well worth the trip to the elegant, storied dining room.

It’s a relatively tiny (just 28 seats) mezcalería in Soho from the all-star team behind La Esquina. All the better to have an intimate experience filled with an all-day menu that ranges from cocktails and coffee to tres leches croissants and tuna crudo.

The biggest draw here is probably the list of 15 wines by the glass for $15, but the marinated olives and meatballs are a worthy accompaniment to whatever pour you choose.

Named for the Thieves’ Market of Mumbai, Chor Bazaar serves a menu of completely vegetarian street food. Think a potato dumpling burger, pani puri, and pav bhaji.

At this full-service flagship of a beloved restaurant, you should order anything that includes (obviously) their housemade granola and grab a few extra bags for the road.

Bangia is open until 2 a.m. on weekends, which makes them ideal for a post- (or pre-) drinks meal. Order the bundae jeongol and marinated pork feet, plus some soju for the table.

It’s an omakase speakeasy, which means you’ll enjoy all the freshest fish while feeling like you’re discovering something no one else knows about.

It’s handroll mastery by way of their original West Village location, where you can enjoy their signature made-to-order in sets or a la carte.

This spot draws inspiration from the salon culture of Paris, complete with cocktails, truffle frites, and butter-poached lobster sliders. Everything, especially the chandeliered space, is highly photographable.

This pastoral Italian spot blesses Astoria with its delightful menu of taglieri, housemade pastas, pizzas, and a spritzy cocktail list.

It’s totally plant based Mexican cuisine from the practiced hands behind Double Zero. They marry their pizza expertise with Latin flavors here, so you can order pies, guacamole, and enchiladas alongside Tequila and mezcal cocktails.

San Pietro has been a white tablecloth staple of Midtown for more than 30 years. Know that the roasted octopus and cavatelli with clams are particularly worthy of your attention.

As cozy and warm as its namesake, The Nest serves up a menu that places loving focus on free-range chicken. Enjoy a half or whole rotisserie chicken plus sides like honey-ginger carrots and four-cheese mac ‘n’ cheese.

Imagine a Parisian wine bar swapped its reds for sakes and its cheeses for futomaki, and you’d have this SoHo izakaya with a rotating, seasonal menu, backed by a team (Kiko) who already knows how to run a room.

Good, indeed. Bueno is a subterranean Argentine spot serving up steaks and cocktails in FiDi. Head here for happy hour, where you can get deals on both drinks and small bites like tacos al pastor.

It’s a cocktail and dinner destination from the team behind Avra so, expect luxury, DJ sets, and plenty of seating both in and outdoors.

They’ve been favorites in the brick-oven pizza business in New York for almost a century, so we’d say you can trust them. Know that the baked clams and old-fashioned margherita pie should be on your table.

It’s a Park Slope haven for sushi and handrolls, which you can order as a set menu or à la carte. We’d recommend the Kome Kosu, a certified steal at $79 for six varied courses.

Head here for a casual feast of Korean fried chicken, served either by the piece or in sandwich form. Don’t forget the tornado potatoes, corn ribs, and kimchi fried rice. It’s one of several locations across the city that have gained a fervent following from those in-the-know.

It’s Cafe Landwer’s outdoor-focused spot in the heart of Williamsburg, where you can order dishes like schnitzel sandwiches on challah, croissant eggs benedict, and short rib shakshuka al fresco.

There are two spaces to choose from at this family-run spot with decades of hospitality experience. Head upstairs to their full-service dining room where you can enjoy occasional live music and Italian food, or downstairs to the Grotto, a speakeasy-style cocktail bar with a curated pasta menu on Thursday nights.
