How to Spend a Spectacular 72 Hours in Sonoma County

Sonoma County is a huge draw for visitors near and far, an easy weekend getaway for anyone anywhere near San Francisco, or fans of wine regions wanting to add it to their list of famous destinations visited – about 10.5 million people visit every year.

This is a living, breathing place though, with a deeply ingrained culture of food and wine, not to mention a substantial population of farmers, who not only grow wine grapes, but fruits and vegetables, run dairies for milk and cheese, and harvest oysters, crab and fish from the Pacific Ocean.

Sonoma County may be a dream destination for visitors, but all told, there are decisions to be made, with more than 400 wineries within the region’s confines, complemented by a dizzying array of places to eat, from Michelin-starred fine dining to roadside taco trucks. These days are designed across three key destinations within Sonoma County, with a daily itinerary that includes a visit to wineries in the morning and afternoon, with plenty of time for lunch and dinner.
