The Wine Hit List, Summer 2023 Edition: Libertine, Oma Grassa, and More

By

It’s been a little while since the Wine Hit List was last prowling for bottles around New York. (We apologize; we’ve been busy.) But we are back and here for summer 2023 — just in time to enjoy the full rebound of not only restaurants but wine lists across the city.

We knew this season would be a busy one, and frankly: People are here, and they’re ready to drink good wine. And there is an ever-growing cohort of wine-loving spots to fill the need.

No surprise: The wine front in New York is more or less following menu choices. That means French everything is in full effect, as seen at Libertine, which out-Frenches the French at its best moments. The pizza universe keeps expanding, with emerging hits like Oma Grassa. Spain is here and thriving at places like Bar Vinazo.

So prepare to explore deep into the wine roads this summer — and beyond. Our latest roster of great wine-drinking restaurants will help you hatch a master plan.
