Atlanta Contributor

Su-Jit may have been born in New York and raised in a restaurant kitchen on Long Island, she’s a Southern gal at heart and in spirit. A former New Orleanian and current proud Atlantan, it’s there that she writes about food, travel, and lifestyle topics for publications that have included EatingWell, HuffPost, Epicurious, The Takeout, Eater, The Kitchn, VinePair, Thrillist, Food & Wine, Serious Eats, Southern Living, Reader’s Digest, The Spruce Eats, and more. When she’s not working on food stories or working off the food itself, you can typically find her invading the personal space of the dogs in the Atlanta shelters she volunteers with, or that of her own foster fail, Sable Sugarpig.

Fun Facts

  • Lives in
    Marietta, GA
  • Favorite food city
Atlanta! Where a collaborative spirit, respectful cultural sharing, and diverse chefs make me so proud to be a part of this scene.
  • Your Ratatouille moment
“Graduating” to manning the salamander at my parents’ restaurant as a kid, where I learned the tremendous satisfaction of watching meat char.
  • A spot you’d almost gatekeep
WIN Taste of Bali in Atlanta, Vesper in East Atlanta Village, Vino Venue in Dunwoody, China Kitchen in Chamblee, Sessions Stand in Marietta, 3+3 LanZhou Ramen in Kennesaw, and Milton’s Cuisine & Cocktails in Milton.
  • Hot take
Pancakes or waffles should always be ordered as bread for the table at brunch or breakfast.
  • Least meal on earth
American Chinese-style chicken and broccoli in brown sauce with fried rice and my dad’s special dry-fried lo mein. Or fresh spaghetti with meat sauce, melted mozzarella, and extra chunky, garlicky tomato sauce with an obscene amount of fresh basil.
