28 Great New York Tasting Menus Under $100

The newest restaurant from the team behind Atomix, Atoboy, and Naro (both also on this list) has branched beyond Korean-influenced dining. Instead, Acru focuses more so on other global influences. In the dining room, they offer a $95 tasting menu that will change frequently with the seasons.

When you’re seeking a cozy and romantic night out for just the two of you, Alice makes for an ideal date night, especially thanks to their $100 pre-fixe meal for two. The meal includes one appetizer and a farmer’s market salad to share, two housemade pastas, two glasses of wine, and housemade gelato for dessert. Better yet, they’ve also got plenty of vegan and gluten-free options, too.

Cost: $100 for two people, not including tax and tip.

This is a restaurant designed with celebration in mind, and whether you’re celebrating a big milestone or something a bit more mundane, they’ve got a generous pre fixe menu that’s an ideal fit for commemorating any occasion. It’s a three-course pre fixe with selections ranging from juicy lamb keema skewers and chargrilled paneer tikka to mutton curry and chicken bhuna. You can also opt to add on pit-roasted lamb chops ($10), costal crab cake ($15) or fish amritsari ($6).

Cost: $58 per person.

Chef-owner Junghyun “JP” Park originally opened Atoboy by taking the Korean staple of banchan to new heights with a large-format, affordable prix fixe menu. Nine years later, Atoboy is still going strong with an entirely revamped menu of new seasonal favorites like bluefin tuna with tamarind and wasabi, sweet shrimp with white kimchi and beurre blanc, and oxtail sooyuk. Longtime regulars need not fret, however: you can still order Atoboy’s excellent fried chicken with spicy peanut and yangyummy sauce as a $28 add-on.

Andrew Carmellini’s house of pasta is always worth a trip, but there’s something special about embarking on a splurge of this quality for lunch. Luckily, they have a steal of a pre-fixe menu, served weekdays from noon until 3 p.m. Choose from dishes like fried tomato rice, ricotta crostini, fusilli gigante with pesto and stracciatella, meatball parm, and pistachio gelato with pistachio sauce for dessert.

Cost: $38 per person.

Cost: $64 per person on Tuesday, $80 per person Wednesday through Sunday.

The beloved and ready-for-all-seasons outdoor dining setup at this Chinatown favorite for tabletop grilling might be gone for now, but Dr Clark is still a standout spot for a fun night out, kotatsu tables or not. If you’re looking for a tasting menu that’s ideal for a group, consider Dr Clark’s Choice ($69 per person). It highlights their Jingisukan tabletop grill with udon, along with seasonal soup, sashimi, fried chicken, scallop risotto, and Basque cheesecake.

Cost: $69 per person, with full table participation.

Spearheaded by Cilento-born husband-and-wife duo Emiliano Cammardella and Rossella Episcopo, Flora brings authentic southern Italian flavors to the heart of Park Slope via its tasting portions menu, available in the dining room on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Each dish is plated to be 30 to 40% smaller than standard portions, and each is priced accordingly, at 40 to 50% less, allowing diners to partake in a one to five-course meal at accessible prices (tip included, as the restaurant is gratuity free). Menu highlights include homemade bruschetta prepared on perfectly crunchy bread, baccalà cilentana prepared with potatoes and fresh tomato sauce, and fusilli cilentani al ferretto imported weekly from Campania, prepared with Vesuvio IGP cherry tomatoes and salted ricotta. Wines are also offered in smaller, three-ounce servings and priced accordingly, with beer, spritzes, and non-alcoholic Italian aperitivo options also available.

Cost: $16 to 80 per person (tip included), depending on number of courses ordered.

Whenever you see “let us cook for you” on a menu, you’re pretty much duty-bound to go for it. Isn’t that why you’re here? At Marco Canora’s Hearth, if you so choose, they’ll whip you up nine dishes (four courses) served family style for $95 per person. It’s a great way to try what they’ve got on the menu lately, often involving lots of seasonal produce, housemade focaccia, and hearty dishes like braised rabbit. True to its Italian name, this Nomad restaurant embraces flowers in every dish. Executive chef Garrison Price (il Buco Alimentari e Vineriai, Asiate, China Poblano) has designed a menu that showcases the very best seasonal ingredients, and his chef’s three-course prix-fixe doesn’t disappoint. The menu changes all the time, but do be on the lookout for Price’s deft pasta making skills — especially with the black pepper and lavender pappardelle — and the arancini made with arborio rice. 

Cost: $65 per person for three courses.

If you’re in the mood to try a little bit of everything — and at Ilili, we can’t stress how important that will be — their family-style Lebanese Journey menu is 100% your next move. Make your way through pea mint hummus, fried kibbeh, carrots in labne, and for mains, a traditional lamb shank or heart-baked loup de mer. Mind you, those are only a few of the choices that await.

Cost: $75 per person.

Long before there was Bungalow, Semma, or Dhamaka, there was Junoon, and now they have fantastic two-course and three-course prix-fixe menus that are some of the best in town. Junoon pioneered elegant, nuanced Indian fine dining that melds contemporary influences with time-honored traditions, and that legacy continues today. Standout classic dishes include eggplant chaat, dry-aged duck with a Tellicherry pepper sauce, and ma’s rice pudding. And for newer dishes, you can’t go wrong with a pumpkin coconut-based curry made with cashew and cranberry stuffing, smoked masala ribs, and a mutton curry. Whether for lunch or dinner, it’s your choice of a variety of prix-fixe options. Better yet, the meals also include your choice of bread and lentils, and comes with rice and raita.

Cost: $43 per person for two courses and $49 person for three courses at lunch. $85 per person for two courses and $98 per person for three courses at dinner.

A quaint West Village neobistro specializing in natural wines, L’Accolade’s food menu is designed entirely to complement the eclectic wine list. The food menu rotates regularly, but you can expect to try bistro classics like steak tartare and a duck, as well as more seasonal takes like a celery root yeloute.

Cost: $65 per person for two courses; $80 per person for three courses.

Everything about Little Hen makes us say “awwww.” The name, the flowery tea-service décor, and the endearingly mismatched plates make this a stop you won’t soon forget. Plus, their New York location has an exclusive dinner menu that includes a $70 per person pre-fixe menu. Choose from dishes like crab cakes and coq au vin– plus, you may as well add on that Champagne pairing, too, while you’re at it.

Cost: $70 per person for the pre-fixe menu, with an optional $24 champagne pairing that still keeps you under that $100 mark.

Sometimes, you just need every course to be dessert. Enter Lysée, former Jungsik pastry chef Eunji Lee’s gleaming palace of patisserie. Their signature pre-fixe menu comes with their corn dessert, a trompe l’oeil mousse cake delightfully shaped and flavored like an ear of, well, corn; the signature Lysée mousse cake, flavored with Korean toasted brown rice and caramel; a seasonal tart; and a kouign amann.

Cost: $60.50 total, recommended to be shared between two.

This sequel to Rezdôra from chef Stefano Secchi focuses on the cuisine and culture of Campania, where wood-fired cooking, fresh vegetables, and seafood reign supreme. And if you happen to book yourself a reservation for one of their bar seats, you can try a variety of their excellent pastas, which range from classic to contemporary. The tasting features five different pastas, like cannelloni with buffalo ricota, candele with Genovese ragu, and a bottone de castagna with chestnut, marsala, and orange.

Cost: $95 per person, available only at the bar.

Few chefs are as innovative and creative as Danny Bowien, and it’s been wonderful to see him back in action over in Chinatown the latest installment of Mission Chinese Food. While you can always order MCF staples like the addictive cabbage or Chongqing chicken wings à la carte, if you really want a taste of the breadth and depth of the menu, you can — and should — opt for their tasting menus. The “CEO” tasting menu, priced at $100 per person, includes 13 different courses, making for a veritable banquet of MCF’s greatest hits and their newest ones, like Sichuan filt mignon, eggplant “Partanna,” and Sandy’s silky almond cream that’s topped with pop rocks.

Cost: $100 per person.

Cost: $75 per person, with $40 per person optional sool pairing, offered Monday through Thursday.

This Korean American pocha from chef Jae Lee brings the best of both culinary cultures together in fun, creative, and wholly delicious ways. Some prime examples: the must-order chopped cheese rice cakes, and their legendary cheeseburger with two patties, a kimchi special sauce, and new-school American cheese. You get a taste of both of those when you and your dining companion opt for the “mixtape” tasting menu, offered for five or seven courses. P.S. The same tasting menu is also available at their original East Village location, too.

Cost: $42 per person for five courses and $52 per person for seven courses, for a minimum of two guests and full table participation.

One the city’s most lauded pasta restaurants also serves a curated regional pasta tasting menu inspired by Emilia-Romagna, allowing you to taste a little bit of each one of their signature housemade pastas, like the Grandma Walking Through Forest in Emilia, a green cappelletti filled with roasted leeks and a black mushroom puree, or the tagliolini al ragu, a Modenese classic.

Cost: $98 for regional pasta tasting of six courses.

Turn your commute into something more complex at See No Evil, housed conveniently right in the 1 train station at 50th Street. Whether that excites or horrifies you, the pre-theater prix-fixe is worth the stop (get it?). You can choose from a beer, wine, or cocktail, an appetizer or salad, and a personal pizza. Things like fresh ricotta and beets, filling arancini, and their Hell Pie with soppressata and pepperoni are all on offer. The best part? It’s just $45 per person.

Cost: $45 per person.

P.S. If you want to splurge slightly more, you could opt for their omakase specials priced at $143 per person for 15 courses and $118 per person for 14 courses.

Cost: $88 per person. 

On Mondays only this summer, Cafe Mado serves a special “Steak Monday” pre-fixe menu featuring your choice of a starter and dessert, plus a charcoal grilled dry-aged strip loin that’s dusted in koji, and served with roasted shallots, horseradish, and beef fat drippings. Sauce is your choice of ramp bearnaise or onion au poivre, and sides include a potato pavé and wild spinach with brown butter and bergamot. And to pair with it all, you can opt for a variety of martinis, too, from the gin-based house martini or their floral 50/50 martini to a classic dirty vodka martini.

Cost: $80 per person, not including drinks.
