How Resy Prepares for a Successful Mother’s Day

By

In 2022, Mother’s Day was Resy’s 10th busiest dining day of the year

Making a reservation at the perfect restaurant for a holiday can be a daunting task, and when it comes to Mother’s Day, the pressure is on.

A recent poll commissioned by Resy1 and conducted by Morning Consult showed 48% of respondents are worried about ensuring they have a great reservation and 51% of Gen Z and Millennial2 diners are worried about choosing the right restaurant to impress their guests. In 2022, according to Resy data, Resy U.S. users made reservations 5 days in advance on average – 7 days in the U.K. – and 45% of all reservations were made the same day.

With this Mother’s Day projected to be busier than 2022, now is the time to book. Three weeks out from the holiday, Resy data showed twice as many reservations booked for Sunday, May 14th (Mother’s Day) compared to the Sunday prior. The most popular cities getting booked out include New York, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, Dallas and Charleston.

The Resy Support Team, which operates 24/7 year-round, is a front-line team supporting restaurants and diners around the globe. They are available for live chatting and emailing with customers to help them get the most out of Resy’s restaurant software (Resy OS), to troubleshoot issues and offer best practices.

For big holidays, the team plans about two months ahead to set restaurants up for success and staff up. Typically, 30 days out from a holiday – like Mother’s Day – is a high-volume day for Resy as diners flood the app and website to book in-demand restaurants.

“We collaborate across the organization to resolve any issues and identify areas of improvement through feedback heard on the front lines,” said Ryan Holly, Director of Customer Support and Restaurant Education at Resy.

Resy’s servicing team also partners with Resy’s in-house Editorial team to highlight “exceptional programming that gets diners and restaurants excited to venture out,” said Chandre Geis, Director of Managed Accounts at Resy.

Whether you’re a diner or a restaurant, Resy has your back – because we want to impress your mom, too.

2 Gen-Z and Millennnials are defined as respondents as being born between 1981-2012.
