The Resy Guide to Dining Along the Coast in Los Angeles
When people refer to the West Coast as the best coast, it’s almost always tinged in golden-hour hues and the sparkle of the Pacific Ocean. Dining along the beach, with the horizon, waves, and sunsets as a backdrop, is just one of the perks of living here. It doesn’t always mean having the sand a few feet away. Sometimes it’s simply being in proximity of the beach. When you’re west of the 405, the temperature changes, the light is different, and it smells like the ocean and not highway fumes.
Here are some of the best coastal restaurants up and down the PCH, from Greek fare near Surfrider Beach to smashburgers on the Venice boardwalk to crab rolls from a Top Chef alum in Playa del Rey. It’s worth noting that several of the Malibu and Palisades-area restaurants that were hardest hit by the January wildfires could really use some love right about now, as the PCH reopens and beach season heats up. What are you waiting for? Summer is calling.
