The Miami Restaurants We Loved This Month

By

If there’s one thing you must know about the people who work at Resy, it’s that we genuinely love restaurants …

This month, Team Resy solo dined on excellent tapas, ordered a perfect burger at a chic French restaurant, and finally saw a neighborhood gem recognized on an international stage.

I’ve been a longtime fan of…

Heritage, so I was thrilled to see it recognized on a world stage when it received a Michelin Bib Gourmand designation just this month. It’s been a hidden gem for years, and it’s finally taking its place center stage. You can’t go wrong with any of the pizzas or pastas, but I always start my meal with one appetizer: the mascarpone-stuffed fried squash blossoms, which are a velvety dream I repeatedly go back for.

I had an absolutely phenomenal meal…

… at Tropezón. I’m a huge tapas fan, so when I saw this restaurant on Resy, I knew I had to check it out for a happy hour treat. I got the patatas bravas (perfectly seasoned with a slight kick to them), the shishito peppers (fire roasted and so delicious), and the egg-and-potato-filled tortilla Española, which was topped with an amazing aioli. My server, Edwin, was the best, and recommended the yuzu gin & tonic, which was slightly sweet and looked unique with its purple color and fantastic presentation. The happy hour special was great for a solo diner and I highly recommend Tropezón to anyone dining out in Miami.

Having been to L.A., I can confirm…

… that Jon & Vinny’s hits every time, and their residency at the Rubell Museum in Miami hits just as hard.

The fried calamari was perfect and the gem lettuce salad with Calabrian chile dressing had a great kick to it. We loved the “sarah & shiri’s super shroom” pizza and the “white lightning” one with jalapeño and onions. And we couldn’t skip the spicy vodka fusilli, of course, which is perfect every time. Throw in some incredibly refreshing Aperol spritzes and make sure to get soft serve, some strawberry bread pudding, and their amazing chocolate chip cookie to round out the meal. The location and setup of this pop-up are great, so if you find yourself in Miami, I’d highly recommend.

Cute, quaint, French, what’s not to like?

Silverlake Bistro is a proper neighborhood gem, and I’m a fiend for the radicchio Caesar, which comes with a mix of anchovies and croutons; I swear I could eat this every day. They are famous for their burger, which I do come often for: it’s sophisticated, flavorful, and at $24, a deal. Yes, I know, a burger at a chic restaurant like this? Yes. Trust.

On a last-minute whim…

… we booked Miss Crispy Rice for a Friday night dinner and loved their elevated-but-express omakase format: think 11 courses of sushi, all served within an hour for $70 — a great and filling deal. Every bite of nigiri and crispy rice came with unique accents, like blood orange with serrano or ginger with lime zest that accentuated the succulent sushi. We’ll definitely be back soon.

I had a great first visit…

… to Mike Solomonov’s new opening in Miami. The decor and service were on point, and the food was fantastic. From the hummus and salatim to the Black and White Cookie cocktail (and everything in between), it all really highlighted the chef’s cuisine with some added Miami flair.
