The Miami Restaurants We’re Loving Right Now
Published:
If there’s one thing you must know about the people who work at Resy and Tock, it’s that we genuinely love restaurants …
This month, Team Resy and Tock fell hard for some caramelized lamb cutlets, indulged in tableside soft serve and perfect french fries, and had a branzino that brought tears to our eyes.
This Italian American red-sauce joint impresses every time…
Whether it’s a bowl of spicy rig or the chicken parm, the plates at Anthony’s Runway 84 are enormous (definitely bring a group or prepare to have leftovers), and the sharply dressed servers will make you feel like you’re the only one who matters in this NYC-style supper club. It gets louder as the night goes on, with live music and an increasingly buzzing dining room. If you like being able to hear the person you’re seated across from, make an early bird reservation at 5 p.m. And don’t leave without trying the mindblowingly massive pistachio cake.

This spot is getting tons of attention…
… and it is so very well deserved. Beauty & The Butcher has a great vibe, delivering an incredible experience throughout with a menu that certainly makes a statement. The must-order dishes: the beef tartare, the pork chop, the steaks (they’re all fantastic), and while easy to dismiss, the french fries are some of the best in the city. Definitely don’t skip dessert (go for the beauty chocolate cake).

The perfect casual spot…
… for a reunion dinner with friends who appreciate good food (and easy parking) has to be Walrus Rodeo. We shared the unique Leek and Geeks pizza and too many other dishes, though my favorite might’ve been the seasonal version of their stracciatella with wood-fried bread (pane bianco) — this one was accompanied by crisp snap peas and Meyer lemon.

This is some restaurant…
From the beautiful statues to the décor and the music, Sexy Fish is an incredible dining experience with an ambiance like no other. We shared the tastiest grilled lobster, some delicious salmon teriyaki, and kimchi fried rice, but my favorite dish of the night had to be the caramelized lamb cutlets. They were beyond tender, packed with flavor, and quite literally melted in your mouth. (Shoutout to their mocktails, which were quite tasty!)
Pro tip: You must pay a visit to the bathroom; the art and décor in there is on another level.

I don’t find myself out to dinner on the Miami River often…
… (most of the sceney riverfront restaurants feel like special-occasion spots), but I’m grateful for a meaningful gathering that brought me to the beautiful Bagatelle. Every dish was plated artfully, the indoor-outdoor space flowed seamlessly, and the boats gliding by made me wonder why I don’t come here more often.

I wish I lived in Miami…
… so I could visit Tâm Tâm every week. My best friend and I demolished everything from roasted prawns and enoki mushrooms to frog legs and the most tender scallop crudo I’ve ever had. Plus, a branzino that brought tears to my eyes. I could taste the char from the grill, and the fresh herbs combined with their sauces (like a serrano lime mint hot sauce) meant that every bite had something different to freak out about. I licked every plate clean, and we yapped and gossiped with the staff like we had known them for years. I cannot wait to return.

With a new Sunday brunch on the menu…
… I visited Americana Kitchen at Loews Coral Gables Hotel, and they spoiled my best friend for her birthday. Please, I beg of you, bring enough company to share the chilled seafood platter and a few entrées with, order a cocktail tree of espresso martinis for the whole table, and end with the tableside soft serve if you still have room. Ladies, come here for your next girls get-together.
