New On Resy: Miami’s Newest Restaurant Openings

Peruvian cuisine gets special treatment at Pisco y Nazca, where ceviche, chaufas, and well, pisco drinks dot the robust menu. Saúde!

The word “ktchn” might be shortened, but everything that comes out of Reunion’s is full of flavor and skill. Come during happy hour for deals on both drinks and small bites.

Named for the iconic cooking competition show hosted by Gordon Ramsay, Hell’s Kitchen is meant to make you feel like you’re experiencing the drama and theatricality of the show. And yes, you should order the beef Wellington.

With Lido’s waterfront patio and views of the city, we’d have to love it no matter what. Luckily for us, the food does the location justice; do order plenty from the raw bar.

Chop takes everything you love about classic steakhouses and ups the ante with contemporary takes that’ll leave you feeling more than satisfied. The steaks are superb, but don’t overlook the extensive seafood selections, either.

So named for the Greek goddess of the earth, Gaia makes its way to Miami on the heels of locations across the globe from Dubai to London. Know that the spanakopita and moussaka are required ordering.

Eating tapas and sipping cocktails never hurt anyone, especially when the fare is as good as it is at Bulla. Oh, and if you’re going to become a regular, you should know it’s pronounced “boo-ya.”

Nikkei-style cuisine is out in full force here, with leche de tigre ceviche, yucca fries, and sushi rolls all on the menu.

This crowd pleaser doesn’t disappoint with its expansive menu of Spanish specialties. Think tortilla española, four types of paella, pitchers of sangria, and bottles of tempranillo. It’s the next best thing to being in Spain.

Head here for a casual, comfortable meal that should include rosemary focaccia and a marinara pie. Oh, and a Peroni.

They’ve been a local favorite for three decades, with all the trappings of a classic Italian American trattoria. Housemade pasta and Roman-style pizzas for the table, please.

It’s big enough to spread out at La Tremenda, a fact you’ll be grateful for once their signature paella makes its way to your table. Follow it with a Basque cheesecake, if you know what’s good for you.

Named for the year Maradona led Argentina to soccer glory, this Argentinian parrilla treats live-fire asado as a cultural ritual as much as a cooking method. Premium cuts from Argentina, the U.S., and Japan are grilled over fire with nothing but salt — the way it was always meant to be done. The best-in-class beef program alone earns the trip, but the cocktail list, developed by the team behind the best bar in South America, might also convince you.

It’s a see-and-be-seen hot spot scene right on the water, so you can work on your tan while you sip your tableside mojito. Their menu even has a section called Sea and Be Seen — it’s perfect. And so is their crispy whole snapper.

Try to snag a seat in the garden here at EOS (as the name implies). The breeze only improves on the watermelon salad and moussaka, which is already top-notch.

The smoke-averse may not thrive here, but for lovers of fine cigars, premium liquor, and prime cuts of beef, La Terraza Nicabanos is a little slice of heaven.

The $10 cocktails are a steal anywhere, but in Miami they’re downright unheard of. At Grand Public, they’re the norm (if you arrive after 10 p.m., that is). Chase them with an order of honey butter Parker House rolls.

In addition to sounding like something we’d love to do with our friends, Kiki on the River is a lovely spot to grab some Greek classics. Do know that the salt-crusted lavraki should be your top contender.

It’s an enormous and exciting Colombian spot right near the beachfront. What are you waiting for? Empanadas for the table, por favor.

If you can, head here on the weekends for the wagyu experience, during which you’ll get to meet the butcher and pick your own cuts. Even if you come during other hours, the care and attention to beef here is hard to beat.

By way of Mexico City, then San Francisco, and now Miami, Cha Cha Cha has earned its reputation for a fun, flavorful night out. The long list of crudo (11!) and margaritas should convince you, if that name didn’t.

No matter what kind of party you’re looking for (some past examples include “My Boyfriend is Out of Town” and “Late Night Vibe DJ”), Baoli has you covered. And we didn’t even talk about the food yet — wagyu dumplings, anyone?

Two decades of center-cut rib eye, hamachi tostada, and truffle risotto is worthy of a little respect. Show yours by ordering enough for a small army.

It’s an old-school, white tablecloth joint serving up all you’d expect from such an establishment. Know that the pear ravioli is highly recommended, as is smart casual attire.

With a name like that, you know what to expect. Come ready to peruse the humidor and the whiskey selection.

High above Brickell, the team behind L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon and Le Jardinier brings their Michelin-caliber polish to contemporary Italian cooking at this 54th-floor rooftop restaurant. The menu leans into elegant restraint with dishes like light and citrusy taglioni al limone or tortelloni stuffed with red wine-braised short rib — but those sweeping skyline views have a way of stealing the show.  

Built on the premise that great meat shouldn’t require a special occasion, this steakhouse from the team behind local butcher Meat N’ Bone is designed for the kind of repeat visits that start with a $35 ribeye and slowly work their way up to torched Japanese A5 wagyu nigiri. The new expanded location brings more of everything, with added seating, a private dining room, and a glass-enclosed wine room.

Leave it to Stephen Starr to step into Miami’s crowded steakhouse scene and do something different. Calibrated as an antidote to the city’s clubstaurant circuit, Slim’s channels midcentury cool into a menu of expertly-sourced beef and nostalgic dishes. Starr’s signature $100 wagyu cheesesteak loaded with black truffle and foie gras (of Barclay Prime fame in Philly) makes its Miami debut here. 

From the legendary Cipriani family comes a cafe-market at Mr. C Residences that distills their signature Italian hospitality into something far more everyday. Here, espresso, housemade pastas, and a rotating spread of pastries and gelato carry the same polish as their formal dining rooms, just in a more flexible, all-day format. Drop in for a quick coffee or linger into aperitivo time at this new neighborhood refuge.
