This year’s James Beard Foundation Awards semifinalists have been unveiled, and more than a few Chicago favorites have received some love. This year’s class is led by splashy newcomer Obélix, which has been recognized as one of the country’s Best New Restaurants. Chefs that received nominations for top regional talents include Diana Davila of Mi Tocaya Antojeria and the Kasama dynamic duo of Genie Kwon and Tim Flores.
Finalists will be announced in March, and awards handed out June 5 in Chicago. The local restaurants available to book on Resy are highlighted below; find the full national list here on the Beard Foundation website.
