The March Hit List: Boone’s, Fellaship Lounge, Girl Diver, and More

The Bobby Jones Golf Course lining Tanyard Creek is the backdrop for this Collier Hills restaurant, aptly named after golfer Boone Knox and focusing on New American eats. Seasonality is the essence of what diners can eat here; current menu highlights include a spicy kale and arugula salad and saffron tagliolini paired with gulf shrimp. 

Cigars and a place to gather with friends that feels akin to your living room is the aesthetic at Fellaship Lounge, Cam and Cecil Newton’s downtown spot. Grilled lobster tails, ponzu glazed salmon and lamb chops are some menu offerings, along with a wide selection of cigars and cocktails to sip on. 

A newcomer from Char Korean Bar and Grill Richard Tang, the name pays homage to the storied tradition of Korean and Japanese women who collect a plethora of things from the ocean floor. The menu spans by-the-pound seafood options and shareable Viet-Cajun platters such as green curry mussels, barbecue octopus, and lobster macaroni-and-cheese. 

Renowned Atlanta restaurant Ladybird Grove & Mess Hall’s pandemic pivot was private greenhouses for rent. These greenhouses, for as few as two people and as many as 10, are designed for the colder winter season and have been available since December. Enjoy the standard Ladybird faves there, such as the whole smoked chicken or the double-stack cheeseburger. 

Under the tagline “Southern fare with a creative twist,” owner Joy Beber’s Joy Cafe has sculpted a menu drawing from her upbringing in south Georgia. Menu standouts include fried green tomato tarts, halibut puttanesca, and the beloved fried chicken.

Located on bustling Lavista Road in the Oak Grove pocket of Decatur, Kitchen Six bills itself as a neighborhood eatery featuring a selection of ingredients from local farmers and purveyors. Menu highlights include mushroom toast, grilled pork tenderloin, and homemade pimento cheese. 

Though Castleberry Hill’s Parlor on Peter Street is known first and foremost for their cocktails. For those who want a snack to nibble on, there are Bavarian pretzel bites with a mustard dipping sauce or oven-roasted brussels sprouts. A variety of sliders and skewers round out their menu for those with a heartier appetite. 

Zeb Stevenson and Ross Stone are behind this West Midtown restaurant that opened in 2019. Choose from the family-style menu offerings of blackened redfish, collard green and sunchoke dip, or the dry-aged cheeseburger served with bacon and hand-cut fries. A recent addition is Birdy Biscuits, featuring five different types of biscuit sandwiches.

Another restaurant from the Korean Wives Hospitality Group, East Lake’s Salaryman has solidified a reputation since opening in 2019. Though ramen is the shining star on the menu, also make a plan to try the fried chicken sandwich — crunchy, sweet kimchi brined chicken thighs are piled atop a buttery brioche bun and topped with a tangy coleslaw and yuzu pickles.
