Here’s Where to Ring in the New Year

Alma at The Standard
Alma is serving up its signature creative-and-seasonal dishes this New Year’s Eve, offering standard a la carte prices. But there’s more: a grower (read: artisanal) Champagne flight, caviar service, specialty cocktails, and a Champagne toast at midnight.
Menu Highlights: Seaweed and tofu beignets with yuzu kosho and lime aioli, aged New York strip with sunchokes, mushrooms and brown butter bearnaise.

Bridge and Broadcast
This brand-new, dinner series concept inside Hotel Normandie is whipping up something special– a private, three-course New Year’s Eve dinner party with optional wine pairing. A ticket also grants entrance to the hotel’s rooftop, where a countdown will take place. Added perks: gift bag and complimentary midnight toast.

Cassia is ending 2017 with a bang, serving up an eight-course, family-style feast featuring some of chef Bryant Ng’s signature dishes, alongside unique offerings and specially-curated alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverage pairings. (Note: if you plan to ring in 2018 at Cassia, book a reservation for 9pm or later.)
Menu Highlights: Honey walnut prawns, twice-cooked Wagyu beef brisket and broccoli, crab rangoon dip with clay oven bread, grilled pig’s tail.

Dave Beran’s tasting menu hot spot is offering up two swoon-worthy options: a pre-party dinner for (for guests with midnight plans elsewhere), and a pricier, NYE dinner — which comes with a midnight Champagne toast, and other surprises along the way.

Take comfort in Gusto specialties, like meatballs and fresh pasta, as you ring in 2018. A three-course meal of classic offerings, plus complimentary prosecco at midnight is on deck.

This Santa Monica newcomer is celebrating its first New Year’s Eve with a five-course chef’s menu, complimentary Champagne at midnight, and music and dancing from 9pm onwards. To top it all off, there will be an a la carte omelette station next door at Lunetta All Day from 11:30pm-12:30am.
Menu Highlights: Kampachi crudo, lobster wintertime salad, Jidori chicken with parsnip purée and truffle madeira sauce, crispy duck breast with Hudson Valley foie gras, Opera cake.

Close out 2017 with a special, a la carte menu at this Arts District stunner, offered in two variations, depending on your reservation time. Guests looking to ring in the New Year at the restaurant should book a later seating (8:15 pm and onwards). Bar and cocktail space will be available for after-dinner drinks, and the Straytones will perform live from from 9pm-2am.

Rustic Canyon
Jeremy Fox’s seasonal darling is dishing up a four-course, family-style tasting menu of market-driven dishes, crafted specially for the evening.

Saddle Peak Lodge
From 9pm onwards, this cozy lodge nestled in the foothills of the Santa Monica Mountains is serving up a New Year’s Eve tasting menu that highlights a slew of fine fare. Additional highlights include a Champagne toast and live music.
Menu Highlights: Blinis and caviar, black truffle soup, seared foie gras, grilled elk tenderloin, bread pudding.

The Local Peasant
A Valley area staple, The Local Peasant is offering New Year’s Eve lobster feasts at both locations, with the option to add a 6oz center cut ribeye steak, or order from a limited regular menu. Champagne toasts will ring in the New Year, the restaurants will be decorated, music will be pumped up, party swag will include hat and noisemakers, and the countdown will be projected.
Menu Highlights: Steamed Maine lobster, loaded baked potato, sweet corn on the cob, ribeye steak.
