Because this Lower East Side restaurant run by wunderkind chef Flynn McGarry sings of produce plucked at its peak. Gem is seasonality at its best, emphasizing local seafood and vegetables with an artful yet simple spin. Tie it all up together in a sleek setting that feels like a cool friend’s living room, and you’ve got yourself a place you’ll want to revisit again and again.

If you can’t fathom a roasted cauliflower with a cult following, you haven’t been to  Miznon. (How have you not yet been to Miznon?) Built on Tel Aviv street food, the cherished Israeli mini-chain also pays tribute to every city it lands in, which, in New York’s case, means a cheeseburger folded into a pita, and other specialties. But trust us, you truly haven’t lived until you’ve devoured the flagship baby cauliflower. And it’s now in DeKalb Market in downtown Brooklyn.

Because this isn’t just any Korean barbecue, this is a family-run OG that’s been doing its thing since 1964. From Busan to Midtown, Yoon offers prime meats (fresh short rib, wagyu, dry aged ribeye) for tabletop grilling and some twists on bibimbap, stews, and the like. Pro tip: You’ll want to order the potato noodles, which cook and simmer in the fatty meat drippings post-grilling.

Keith NcNally’s spin on the rustic Italian tavern is a pretty picture with its wooden beams, tiled floors, and bricked-up archways. And the rest of the dining experience follows suit, with trattoria hits — your meal would be remiss without the fritto misto — and a typical (read: well-heeled) McNally crowd filling the booming room.

Amid a stylish black and gold backdrop, Punjabi cuisine takes the spotlight. Specifically, its kebab culture, which is at the heart of Bhatti’s menu, and boasts 21 different type of skewers, alongside one of the best butter chickens in town and heady curries. One step inside Sugar Monk and you’ll realize it’s a gem of a bar. A wink to the Harlem Renaissance, this moody lounge with plush seats and dimmed lights holds the keys to one impressive cocktail list, mixing its own housemade bitters and artisanal spirits to dizzying effect.

Sushi but make it vegan. Doesn’t sound as thrilling? Think again. Beyond Sushi puts as much care and thought into sourcing its plant-based ingredients as a sushi master does into their fish, and the result is beyond surprising. Late adopters, look no further than the spicy mang and mighty mushroom rolls.

Because after swaying over New Yorkers with vegan sushi at Beyond Sushi, chef-owner Guy Vaknin is tackling the bistro genre with Willow. And Vaknin more than succeeds, twisting and turning the usual suspects into vegan delights — truffle mac and “cheese,” eggplant lasagna, and cauliflower “wings” are already cult favorites in the making.

Because Jasmine’s is a bona-fide haven deep in Midtown, doling out Caribbean tunes and soul-warming food to match. Pulling from Antigua to Trinidad and passed-down family recipes, Jasmine’s menu reads like a best of island hits — expect everything from ackee and saltfish to coconut salmon and jerk chicken wings.

Because although White Tiger plays with the cannons of Korean food (see the pan-fried rice cakes subbing in as gnocchi), it still stays true to the classics, making it a Prospect Heights’ go-to for bibimbap, double-fried chicken, and bulgogi, within a Brooklyn setup (read: reclaimed wood, vibrant neon green accents, and tins of Spam lining the shelves).
