The Resy Hit List: Where In the Twin Cities You’ll Want to Eat Right Now

By

There’s no question we hear more often: Where should I go eat? And while we at Resy know it’s an honor to be the friend who everyone asks for restaurant advice, we also know it’s a complicated task. That’s where the Resy Hit List comes in.

We’ve designed it to be your essential resource for dining in Minneapolis and Saint Paul: a monthly-updated (and newly expanded!) guide to the restaurants in that you won’t want to miss — tonight or any night.

Three Things In the Twin Cities Not to Miss This Month

  • Game Day Galore: March Madness being upon us, we should note that quintessential neighborhood bar Stout’s Pub also happens to have a stellar menu. The menu varies from Ellesworth fried cheese curds to burgers, tacos, and wood-fired pizzas. A large variety of salads may be of interest if someone is trying to be healthy, but it’s going to be hard to resist those Cajun dry-rub chicken wings, just sayin’.
  • Devil In the Details: This, again, being a watershed month for watering holes, let’s take a moment to appreciate the counterpoint nature of Devil’s Advocate. A dark, funky bar serving top-level Italian cuisine in the heart of downtown Minneapolis? Not on our Bingo card but we’re here for it. (A second location opened in Stillwater in 2022.) The quality of food and Insta-worthy drinks are dead serious; lasagna in a cast-iron skillet is the life hack we didn’t know we needed.
  • Tune In for Tiki Thursday: It’s impossible to put Skaalvenn in a box. The Nordic distillery from owners Tyson and Mary Schnitker is tucked in a mundane suburban office building, in a dark room reminiscent of an underground Tokyo night club, but with a velvet couch next to the … baby grand piano? This is where you will find local musician Loc Tran playing on Thursdays, because, it’s… Tiki Thursday? Don’t overthink it, just belly up to the bar and order from the ever-changing signature cocktail menu. Anything with their Skaalvenn Aquavit is highly recommended. And prior to that? Book here.
