The Resy Hit List: Where In Chicago You’ll Want to Eat Right Now

By

There’s no question we hear more often: Where should I go eat? And while we at Resy know it’s an honor to be the friend who everyone asks for restaurant advice, we also know it’s a complicated task. That’s where the Resy Hit List comes in.

We’ve designed it to be your essential resource for dining in Chicago: a monthly-updated (and newly expanded!) guide to the restaurants in that you won’t want to miss — tonight or any night.

Four Things In Chicago Not to Miss This Month

  • Bonyeon Brings the Beef: We’re excited to welcome this brand new spot from Michelin-starred chef Sangtae Park (Omakase Yume) that puts a new — omakase — twist on the Chicago steakhouse experience. If you can snag one of the 12 coveted seats, expect a rotating multi-course beef-centered meal, including lesser-known cuts. Meaning “root” or “original,” Bonyeon promises an unadulterated nose-to-tail experience..
  • Gangnam Market Has Entered the Chat: Part food court, part grocery store, Gangnam Market is a neon-lit, 28,000-square-feet arena for Asian cooking essentials, beer and sake, bubble tea, coffee, frozen foods, and more. There’s a full bar and six food vendors, to satsify cravings for buns, bibimbap, ramen, or sushi. Come hungry.
  • Get Cozy At: It’s the season forArmitage Ale House, given the fireplace vibes and comforting Anglo-Indian bites (get the spiced lamb pot pie). While GM Corina Hanc says reservations are often gone within seconds, we have the inside scoop: They open 14 days out, right at 9 a.m. If you miss those, try to walk in for a bar seat or put your name on the waitlist after brunch. And find more of our inside tips here.
  • Sweet Doughnut, Bro: There’s a new doughnut at Fulton Market. Portland-based (and stoner-beloved) Voodoo Doughnut just opened its first outpost here, and we’re excited for creations like the maple bacon bar (topped with bacon and maple glaze); and the Old Dirty Bastard with chocolate frosting, Oreos, and peanut butter. There are also lots of vegan varieties, if that’s your thing.
