The Resy Hit List: Where In Chicago You’ll Want to Eat in April 2024

By

There’s no question we hear more often: Where should I go eat? And while we at Resy know it’s an honor to be the friend who everyone asks for restaurant advice, we also know it’s a complicated task. That’s where the Resy Hit List comes in.

We’ve designed it to be your essential resource for dining in Chicago: a monthly-updated (and newly expanded!) guide to the restaurants in that you won’t want to miss — tonight or any night.

Four Things In Chicago Not to Miss This Month

  • It’s Cocktail Time: April is all about sipping, tasting, and experimenting with spirits. Book a rum cocktail tasting at mfk led by beverage director Archie Powell, a spring cocktail making class at Boqueria, and a mezcal tasting menu that pairs each course with rare agave spirits at Bar Sotano. And find more great drinking options here,
  • The Best Brunches: We recently updated our guide to our favorite brunches, and now that the weather is looking up, you’re going to want to stop by The Duck Inn’s lush garden patio for their signature rotisserie duck and fried duck eggs with (natch) duck fat potatoes.
  • Familiar Name, New Opening: Across from the Holy Name Cathedral is Gemini Grill, the latest from Ballyhoo Hospitality (you might know them from DeNucci’s, Coda di Volpe, etc.). Expect a crowd-pleasing “American bistro”-style menu, plus brunch and a Sunday-only fried chicken special. And track more new openings with New on Resy.
  • Rooftop Season Starts Now: Celebrate the start of warmer weather with an al fresco meal at Cindy’s, whose rooftop on the 13th floor of the Chicago Athletic Association is packed with gorgeous views and seasonal dishes from Top Chef alum Kaleena Bliss. Here’s how to get a prime table.
