Note: This list will be updated regularly with new additions each month, so be sure to check back often. For Los Angeles’ newest restaurant openings, head here.
Thunderbolt Echo Park
At the intersection of Echo Park and Historic Filipinotown, you’ll find the unexpected convergence of craft cocktails and Southern food at this acclaimed east side destination. Most of the drinks here are true originals like the P-Town Boxing Club (coconut-washed rye, pandan, bitters) with a few modified classics like the Lychee Daiquiri as well. To eat, you can’t go wrong with anything deep fried or cheese-laced but we especially love the pimento cheese burger.
Stecca Taverna Hermosa Beach
La Bottega Pico-Robertson
Levant Bistro Silver Lake
Momed Atwater Village
Atwater Village is maybe the last place in L.A. you’d expect to find a sprawling restaurant reminiscent of a sun-drenched Mediterranean resort. But with this unexpected and transportive backdrop, Momed delivers Cal-Med dishes prepared with locally grown produce. Influences span the whole of the Mediterranean from Morocco to Turkey with items like wild mushroom manti (dumplings) and whipped feta with saffron honey. Pro tip: don’t miss happy hour Sunday to Thursday for discounted cocktails.
Papille Gustative Santa Monica
Civico 2064 Los Feliz
The Los Feliz outpost of the successful San Diego original, Civico 2064 serves Calabrian cuisine through a modern lens, with significant vegan offerings. Nearly half the menu is plant‑based — dishes like short rib ragu and pistachio‑crusted salmon share space with vegan parmigiana and even a vegan steak. The vibe is rustic, with exposed brick and plenty of greenery, plus patio seating is perfect for people-watching on busy Hillhurst Avenue.
Not No Bar Santa Monica
Baekjeong – Koreatown Koreatown
After a brief hiatus, the L.A. offshoot of the South Korea-born barbecue chain is back and rowdier than ever in a dramatic 6,500-foot space in the heart of Koreatown. The glorious new space features high ceilings, exposed brick, comfy booths and interior artwork inspired by bustling Seoul night markets. The restaurant is known for signatures like its cheesy corn moat and familiar Korean favorites like kimchi jjigae, and the new location includes a dry-aging program for extra premium beef.
