The L.A. outpost of this New York-based concept is meant to transport you to an Italian holiday. Chef Adam Leonti (an alum of Vetri in Philadelphia) is behind the menu, which includes takes on Italian-American classics like eggplant Parm and salmon francese (typically done with chicken) as well more traditional pasta dishes. The lush 140-seat space has an indoor-outdoor feel thanks to a retractable roof, so enjoy the ivy-laden walls and sunset views as you peruse the extensive wine list and nibble on Leonti’s ethereal focaccia. It’s available for private bookings of varying sizes and features a prix fixe menu. The private dining room can accommodate upwards of 40 guests seated and with a private ‘speakeasy’ bar space adjacent to the dining space can complement upwards of 85 plus. Chef Zachary Pollack (Alimento, Casa Buona) headed west this spring to open Cosetta, an approachable Cal-Italian restaurant on Santa Monica’s Ocean Park Blvd. Famed for his mozzarella sticks (they’re on the menu here too, don’t worry), Pollack also puts his spin on pizza with options like the Hawaiian Sunrise (smoked coppa, pineapple, cilantro) or the Lo Spagnolo Ricco with uni butter and Spanish clams. You’ll also find inventive seafood dishes like scallop crudo with Sicilian ponzu and almonds and bluefin tartare with ‘ossobuco’ aioli. When it comes to private dining, Cosetta’s heated patio accommodates up to 30 guests seated or up to 35 standing. Indoors, they can seat up to 50 guests. A West Adams favorite for chef Keith Corbin’s all-day comfort food menu, Alta Adams is also a destination for its perpetually welcoming vibe, which extends to the large back patio. A block from the LAX In-N-Out, this husband-and wife-led oasis for globally-inspired farm-to table fare is a welcome addition to the Westchester dining scene. You’ll spot rooftop-grown vegetables in dishes like the sunchoke and tomato salad, or the kabocha katsu with bitter green remoulade. Culinary influences range from co-owner Harry Posner’s Persian heritage (jeweled saffron rice) to bits of British cuisine the couple picked up while living in London (Welsh rarebit). The Los Feliz standby, known for its chef-driven takes on Italian-American classics and occasional celebrity spottings, has a New York-leaning vibe thanks to its vintage wooden bar and cozy booth seating. The Mar Vista neighborhood staple has served the community as a grocer for 75 years, but in spring 2025, owner Jeremy Adler spun it into a full-service restaurant serving comforting farmers’ market-driven Italian fare (pizzas, pastas, housemade focaccia etc.) and classic cocktails to match. When it comes to PDRs, they offer a variety of choices, including their leafy outdoor patio space which can host up to 50 seated guests. Gjelina founder Travis Lett’s triumphant return to Abbot Kinney brings Cal-izakaya fare like ramen, hand rolls, miso black cod, and killer craft cocktails to the former MTN space. Combine the food with a bright, casual space that nods to a Japanese listening room-meets-vinyl bar aesthetic, and it’s one of the hottest tables in town right now. Echo Park’s striking Cal-Roman-inspired trattoria, beloved for its handmade pastas and wood-fired pizzas, has recently added several options for large groups. Parties of 7-8 will be seated at the chef’s table located within the main dining room, but for parties of 9-15, you can book their private dining space, Il Cantuccio. Both options require a prix fixe menu for either $90 to $110 per person. Note: before you begin your evening, grab a spritz at the newly opened Bar Bacetti just next door.

You want options? Birdie G’s has them. The Santa Monica spot can do either large or small parties on its lovely patio. If you’d rather be inside, there’s a proper private dining room (dubbed “Al’s Workshop”). And if you’re going big, you can also do a full buyout for up to 150 people seated.

Inspired by Linden Blvd., the street chef Jon Harris regularly traversed growing up in Brooklyn, Linden’s menu is a mashup of cuisines readily found in East Flatbush (mainly Jewish and Caribbean fare) as well as hat tips to his culinary past (the Rhode Island-style calamari, for example, nods to his time working in Providence). But it’s also a great place to throw a party. Inside Linden’s conjoined dining space, Dot, they can accommodate up to 150 people alongside a prix fixe menu. Plus, Linden itself can also be rented out with a capacity of 70 seated and 110 standing.

The lively Virgil Village izakaya, known for plates of creamy miso butter sweet potatoes, pressed sushi, and bulldog-sauce yakisoba, has recently added an outdoor patio that’s ideal for large gatherings. Melrose’s see-and-be-seen hangout, complete with art deco-era details, cozy booths for prime people watching, and a show-stopping cheeseburger, has plenty of private dining options, just in time for the holiday season. The patio, reserved forfor private bookings only, can host up to 65 for a seated dinner and up to 200 for a standing cocktail event. Large dinner parties between 7-30 guests can also be accommodated here with a family- style menu option. The main dining room can be rented out as well which includes 60 seats (with bar) and 100 for standing/cocktail type gatherings. The more recently added Bar Benjamin upstairs, can be booked for a 125-person standing cocktail event in addition, including outside balcony.

Evan Funke’s ode to Roman classics inside the historic Citizen News building has been perpetually booked since opening in 2022. But two PDRs may offer another way in. The larger indoor-outdoor space seats 25 and hosts 50 standing, and the smaller indoor-only room seats 12 or 20 standing. The holiday season is anticipated to book out fast, so get your reservation requests in sooner than later.

Cobi’s is known for its buzzy Southeast Asian cuisine and charming interiors. While they don’t have a private dining room in the traditional sense of the word, their lush back patio and covered outdoor garden, adorned with all manner of greenery, can be rented out for events with varying capacities depending on the size of your group (up to 48 seated and 50 standing). The restaurant also offers buyouts as well if you have a larger group.

Located within the Academy Museum, Fanny’s offers cafe-style breakfast and lunch service during the day, and a swankier, more dramatic dining experience at night complete with tableside theatrics. Inspired by comedienne Fanny Brice, the spot nods to old Hollywood glamour both in its decor and men. The space features a private dining room that holds up to 12 guests on the mezzanine level, overlooking the dining room and museum. A semi-private space can fit up to 38 guests.

Known for dishes like their fried chicken taco and an array of ceviches and mariscos, Mirate is also a destination for its all-Mexican wine and spirits list and craft cocktails that include an array of margaritas and slushies. On the private dining front, there’s a first floor PDR that seats 12, a second floor bar area accommodating 10, and a third floor that’s mostly private and can seat up to 30.
