New on Resy: Lardon, Pomeroy, L&M Parkside, and More

Pomeroy is a classic French bistro by celebrated Chicago chef Jason Paskewitz, who won plaudits at The Blanchard in Lincoln Park and went on to cook for the Chicago Bulls and Blackhawks — in other words, you’re in for a real treat whenever you come here. Come for foie gras, mussels marinière, and daily specials like bouillabaisse on Fridays in an atmosphere of red leather booths and antique brass fittings.

Look elsewhere for Chicago’s trademark deep-dish pizza. At Knead, Mike Waicekauskas pays tribute to the birthplace of everybody’s favorite Italian creation — Naples. Housemade dough, an array of toppings, and just a minute or so of baking in the blazing hot wood-fired oven make an amazing pie.

This is the place for charcuterie: sausages and pâtés from at least four different cuisines. After all, the restaurant’s name is French for a cube or strip of pork fat or bacon. Head west from Chicago to the suburb of Yorkville for a visit to this inspired wine bar and small-plates restaurant, where both the menu and the wine selections change with the seasons. Restaurateur Adrian Frost and chef Jarrod Johnson owned their own organic farm nearby for a half-dozen years, so you know they’re serious about their raw materials.
