The September Hit List: Fitz and Starts, Forsythia, June BYOB, and More

September has an energy that channels both endings and beginnings. It’s the end of summer, but the beginning of fall; it’s the end of vacation season, but a fresh start at school. And though much local produce is coming to an end, a fruitful harvest season is about to begin. That last part tends to lead to exciting menus. Philadelphia restaurants are leveraging our local harvest with flavorful dishes that prove that the end of a season can pave the way to new beginnings. This month we’re getting one last taste of tomato and peach season at Fitz and Starts, exploring North American ingredients through the lens of French cuisine at Forsythia, and squeezing in some late summer seafood at June BYOB.
