Beli’s Top Ranked Resy Restaurants in Philadelphia

All we really need to do to convince you to visit Alpen Rose — if you’re a true Philadelphian — is let you know that our beloved Jalen Hurts says it’s one of his favorite spots in the city for a special occasion. If for whatever reason that’s not enough, the sultry interior, leather booths, and dry-aged steaks should do the trick. Do pay attention to the tableside service, too, from the carving of the meat to the flambeeing of the pineapple upside down Alaska. It’s a trip in all the best ways, and as such, hard to get into. Go Birds.

It’s rare that a restaurant really earns the descriptor “oasis,” but Suraya in Fishtown makes it look easy. The dining room, with patterned tiles and spice-lined shelves, is beautiful, but the true magic happens when you make your way to the secret back garden. Once you’re there, you should order as much as you can from the Levantine menu. Pro tip: Know that the hummus is on everyone’s table for a very good reason.

There’s a good chance that Kalaya’s bird dumplings, delicately shaped to resemble tiny birds and filled with caramelized cod and preserved radish, is perhaps the cutest and most photogenic dish in Philly. Not only is it beautiful to look at, but it tastes incredible, just like the rest of the southern Thai menu from chef Nok Suntaranon. After earning their well-deserved James Beard win for Outstanding Restaurant in 2026, getting a table got a bit tougher, but don’t worry — we can help.

Zahav has been charming Philadelphia denizens for more than a decade, earning critical praise and accolades the whole time. The tasting menu here also happens to be an excellent deal, with a variety of dips and starters served for the table at the start and three additional courses for which you can choose dishes that have previously included pomegranate lamb shoulder and marinated halloumi. We have some tips for snagging a table, but if you can’t swing it, you should know they hold a few seats at the bar for lucky walk-ins.

Those in the know when it comes to Philly’s dining scene will tell you that Vernick is a must visit. It’s the two-story flagship restaurant from one of our fair city’s most masterful chefs, Greg Vernick. Here, the menu is as big as the space, with a few signature dishes that have earned the hype. The roasted chicken with lemon herb jus is as good as people say — and if you see the legendary blueberry pie on the dessert list, know that you’re one of the chosen ones.

It’s yet another hit from chef Greg Vernick (Vernick Food & Drink), which should be no surprise to anyone keyed into the food world here. Vernick is a master of comforting, timeless fare that is both unfussy and lovingly prepared, and chef de cuisine Meri Medoway follows that tradition with a nonna’s care and precision. Here, the menu leans Italian with plenty of delectable pastas and wines to choose from.

Michael Solomonov has long proven he’ll never run out of creative ways to grill things over charcoal, and this, the original Laser Wolf, is proof of that. As such, know that anything on the “from the grill” section of the menu is worthy of your attention, and that the fries with tehina ketchup (pro tip: ask for ranch on the side, too) are an absolute must order.

There’s something particularly impressive about an omakase spot that manages not to sacrifice quality while remaining relatively affordable. Sakana does just that behind a nondescript facade that you shouldn’t let fool you into thinking you aren’t in for a treat. Let the chefs guide you through the courses here and know that their BYOB policy is one of the city’s most generous.

Royal Sushi & Izakaya is two excellent restaurants in one, helmed by the same chef as Dancerobot, Jesse Ito. The front of the space is an izakaya where you’ll enjoy cocktails and bar-friendly bites like pork gyoza and shoyu marinated fried chicken wings. Through the back is an omakase-style sushi counter where the menu includes around 16 courses of fresh cut fish. Either way, it’s a treat worth the effort it takes to snag a Resy.

You may know Lauren Biederman from her namesake smoked fish shop, but we’re here to tell you that her talents extend well into the full-service restaurant world. This South Philly oyster bar is hidden on a quiet residential street and wonderfully beautiful inside, where you’ll enjoy dishes like towering seafood plateaus, raw oysters, and a selection of delicious charcoal-grilled options.
