The February Hit List: Ramen Shop, Rintaro, Ungrafted, Voodoo Love, and More

Ungrafted has been embracing virtual wine tastings, but now they are back for outdoor dining, too. They’ve built a covered, heated front porch on Third Street and have brand new menu items, including a burrata, fennel and hazelnut salad. Other menu highlights: salt and vinegar fries, caviar with blinis, Creole-spiced fried chicken, braised oxtail, and more. Whatever you get, make sure you ask for a glass or bottle to pair.

The gorgeous Rintaro has covered its courtyard with a sailcloth, so you can enjoy sliced fresh fish, smoky yakitori, hand-cut udon, and more free from the elements at one of San Francisco’s most beautiful restaurants.

Brenda’s outdoor parklet is back on Divisadero. Get your comfort in the form of fried chicken with hot pepper jelly, smothered pork chop with onion gravy, cheese grits, cream biscuit, and more.

Chef Eva Morris is doing “Creole Nouveaux Cuisine Made with Love” out of the Brick and Mortar Music Hall kitchen where she’s cooking up deliciousness like tender prime rib sandwiches with Cajun au jus; gumbo; a “Soulrito”;  fried oyster po’boys, and much more on a changing menu.

The beef rib is a beautiful, drool-worthy sight at Smokin’ Woods BBQ in Oakland, as are their hot links, ribs,  brisket, and every other meaty morsel on owner James Woodard’s standout menu.

Pizza is a perfect food, and The Pizza Place is a perfect place to grab it — either for takeout, delivery, or enjoy on their outdoor Noriega parklet or their backyard patio. They’ve got plenty of large tables and heat lamps to keep you warm while chow down on a pepperoni pie.

There’s something extra satisfying about the crispy curry fried chicken banh mi at Wooly Pig in the Dogpatch. The bread is warm, the chicken is fried fresh, and the acidity of the pickled components cut through the all the richness is a refreshing yet familiar way. We love it so much.

Piccino has put out tables outside their little cul-de-sac in the Dogpatch with distanced tables and individual heat lamps. In addition to the Piccino-style options you love — salads, pizza, cocktails — they’re also doing a special steakhouse dinner for two.

Burma Superstar alum Tiyo Shibabaw is doing her spin on Burmese thokes, using greens like kale for the tea leaf salad and a pea shoot salad with all the signature crunchies. Don’t snooze on the flakey crispy roti with coconut dip — it’s delicious and happens to be vegan.

Hermanita is Nicole Marin Tellez’s roving San Francisco pop-up, wherein she showcases food she loves and grew up with, things like her grandma’s pozole, lamb barbacoa with handmade tortillas, tamales, and more. Catch her at Uma Casa on Saturdays and Nana’s Popup Market in North Beach on Sundays.
