Taco María, Yasu, Petit Peso, and More: New on the Resy At Home Hit List

Zach Pollack has reopened his diminutive Silver Lake Italian spot with a limited menu that includes favorites like the decadent chicken-liver crostone with black plum mostarda, radiatore pasta with lamb sugo, and cracked farro with crisp vegetables. The little Venice takeout window that’s big on smashburgers has added breakfast for takeout or delivery every weekend from 8 to 11 a.m., in the same building as American Beauty. Quick-serve specials include egg-and-fried bologna sandwiches, burritos stuffed with brisket and fries, and that fantastic cheeseburger with an egg on top. Bonus: $2 coffee. And although American Beauty proper is still closed, the bar is open for pickup, which means Manhattans, dirty martinis, beer and wine with those burgers and fries.

The diminutive Silver Lake wine bar was just getting its bearings when all this hit, so it’s great to see chef Spencer Bezaire and his wife and general manager Sabrina Bezaire feeding the neighborhood again. A limited menu is now available for pickup or delivery, including citrus and avocado salad with puffed rice, a chicken karaage sandwich, a fried green tomato katsu sandwich, and the diabolically good tuna melt, with confit albacore tuna and pimento cheese. You can also get housemade potato chips or thick-cut fries, side salads, and don’t forget a bag of Eszett’s own hot sauce.

Southern-inflected but fully Californian, Hatchet Hall has returned — to serve Culver City (and beyond) with country ham, potato yeast rolls, duck-fat roasted game hen, braised collard greens, their always-eclectic wines and batched bourbon cocktails. Order dishes à la carte or in family-meal boxes, along with groceries and more. All available for contactless pickup or delivery.

Chef Ria Dolly Barbosa (Paramount Coffee Project, Sqirl, Canele) is serving up Filipino comfort fare with flash at this new downtown spot. Opening during a pandemic is not easy, but the mighty-but-small operation has social distancing and contactless pickup on lock. Barbosa’s dishes range from sisig and pinkabet-inspired salads, to chicken adobo rice bowls, pork lumpia, and housemade baked goods like pan de sal and ensaymadas. This friendly spot has reopened its classic Eagle Rock Craftsman — for takeout only at the moment, with weekly changing menus posted on Instagram every Tuesday. Dinner choices might be French onion “Salisbury steak” or vegetarian spaghetti Bolognese, wedge salad, chocolate pudding with chantilly crema, and an array of beer and wine. Staying home doesn’t mean you have to give up omakase. The Beverly Hills restaurant is serving a full multi-course experience, which includes appetizers, sushi, dessert, and an optional sake pairing, all to be enjoyed at home. It may be  takeout, but chef Yasuhisa Ouchi doesn’t skimp on quality ingredients like Hokkaido uni, ankimo, toro, live box crab, and more. Order via Resy for pickup only.

For 60 years, the only way to get Tito’s old-school crunchy tacos, topped with bright orange cheese, was to wait in line at the Culver City stand. So it’s big news that they can now be delivered right to your doorstep for the first time in the restaurant’s history. The Abbot Kinney staple has reopened for takeout and delivery. Its current menu features classic dishes like gnocco fritto pillows, confit pork shoulder with salsa verde, lasagna verde, harissa-roasted carrots, plus wine and bottled cocktails to go.
