Resy prompted diners to support local restaurants in August – and dine, they did!
Throughout August Resy and American Express® encouraged diners to try a local restaurant they haven’t dined at before. The campaign – American Express and Shop Small® Present: The Resy Tastemakers – was designed to give restaurants an end-of-summer boost, show how small restaurants can make a big impact on their communities and help Gen Z and Millennials – the next generation of diners – discover new-to-them local restaurants.
Eligible American Express Card Members were able to enroll in an offer* available at over 200 Resy restaurants around the country (Txikito and Joseph Leonard in NYC,Mi Tocaya Antojería in Chicago, Itamae in Miami, Black Rabbit in Nashville, and many more). Those who enrolled in the offer and then ate at one of the participating restaurants during the month of August earned $15 back on their American Express Card account enrolled in the offer (after spending $60). 73% of the Card Members who redeemed the offer in August had not spent on their Amex card at that restaurant in the last six months.
To make the month even more fun, Resy teamed up with 25 neighborhood restaurants in six cities and hosted weekly events where Resy and American Express paid the bill for diners**. The events drove over 1,000 reservations and hosted 2,800 diners.
During a summer month that can be unpredictable for restaurants – 49% of small business owners said their greatest concern for this summer was attracting new customers, according to survey1 – the initiative aimed to help boost business.
