FX’s ‘The Bear’ Is Back for Season 4 — and Resy and American Express Turned Up the Heat for Fans
Season 4 of FX’s critically acclaimed ‘The Bear’ is now streaming on Hulu, and American Express and Resy are continuing their partnership with the award-winning series by bringing fans closer to the show through tailored experiences for eligible Card Members.
The show’s co-executive / culinary producer, Courtney Storer, former culinary director and chef de cuisine at Jon & Vinny’s, surprised guests of FX’s ‘The Bear’ All-Access Kitchen Experience last Monday at Maxwells Trading in Chicago alongside Resy Chef Partner Erling Wu-Bower and Executive Chef Chris Jung for a front-row seat to the pace and passion of restaurant life. Storer and chefs Wu-Bower and Jung provided an inside look into their kitchen, inviting guests to gather crops from the rooftop farm and help prepare key dishes before enjoying an advanced screening of the season 4 premiere. In addition, American Express hosted advanced screenings around the country for eligible Platinum and Centurion Card Members.
“Dining today isn’t just about the meal; it’s about the story behind it,” said Hannah Kelly, chief marketing officer at Resy. “Our continued partnership with FX’s ‘The Bear’ is another way we connect diners with the restaurants they love and shine a light on the real people and businesses at the heart of local dining.”
American Express and FX launched custom social content on Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok. Behind-the-scenes videos feature Courtney Storer in conversation with real Resy chefs, who are American Express® Card Members, including Charlie Mitchell (SAGA), Jenn Saesue & Max Wittawat (Bangkok Supper Club) and Ed Szymanski & Patricia Howard (Crevette, Dame, Lord’s). In the same authentic spirit as FX’s ‘The Bear,’ Storer and the Resy chefs offer an honest look into the challenges and triumphs of running a restaurant, sharing wisdom, unfiltered experiences, and a deeper look at how their unique craft, cultural heritage, and creativity shape their kitchens – and their communities.
“FX’s ‘The Bear’ has proven to be a hit show among millennial and Gen Z audiences, especially for our Card Members who we know are passionate about dining. It made complete sense to sponsor another season to create meaningful experiences with our Resy partners and Disney, and custom social content for Card Members to connect with the show, while continuing to champion small businesses and restaurants,” said Jessica Ling, executive vice president of American Express Global Brand Advertising.
The show, featuring Chicago’s culinary scene, has effectively transformed local restaurants into travel destinations for fans and food lovers alike.
According to Resy data, diners are embracing travel to the places that captivate them onscreen. In 2023, out-of-town diners set 28% more Notifies for Chicago restaurants1 and Notifies increased 30% in 2024. According to a 2023 American Express travel trend survey2, 55% of respondents said they’ve been inspired to visit a destination after seeing it featured on a food-focused TV show or documentary.
