After moving from Old Fourth Ward last year, Bomb Biscuit shines in its sunny new home on Memorial Avenue. Service is warm and friendly, even on the busiest weekend days, and the biscuits are still some of the best in the city. The black pepper bacon option is worth the hype, and the vegan and gluten-free versions are strong here, too. Try a biscuit sandwich-style, packed with eggs or fried chicken, or get one on the side of a brunch plate, but either way, splitting a cinnamon roll would not be a bad way to end the meal.

Brunch is back at Tio Lucho’s, and it’s now many locals’ favorite new way to enjoy the Peruvian restaurant — and not just because of how the light-filled Poncey-Highland space looks during the day. Here, the avocado toast is served with plantain chips, the pancakes with sugarcane syrup and chicha butter, and the croque monsieur with lomo saltado and aji bechamel. Dinnertime standouts like squash hush puppies, ceviche, and the burger are available, too.

With the DJ keeping the vibes high, celebrations are always fun at Apt 4B. This spring, the Buckhead spot is serving “girl brunch” — $28 for a starter and main of a small set menu, plus a lemon drop martini. But anyone can order items like the jerk chicken omelet, oxtail sandwich (with fried egg and potato hash), vegetarian chicken and waffles (with fried oyster mushrooms!), and sweet banana foster fritters.

Maybe it’s the breakfast pastries like lamb boureki — flaky phyllo pie stuffed with spiced lamb — or boat-shaped pide topped with mushroom, halloumi, and egg. Or maybe it’s the shakshuka, Turkish sausage hash, or thick-cut brunch toasts loaded with savory veg or sweet feta and apricot syrup. Whatever the reason, brunch at Yalda’s is always a good idea. Order family style to try a bit of everything, and for an extra hit of caffeine, don’t miss the (very) strong Greek coffee, frappes, or affogatos, featuring creamy gelato in flavors like pistachio or cardamom.

Atlanta was hyped when this pop-up opened a brick-and-mortar on Buford Highway’s Asian Square in 2022. Now, Kamayan ATL’s Sunday-only brunch bowls all come with garlic rice, fried eggs, and seasonal fruit, plus choice of meat from options including sweet chorizo, cured pork, or marinated beef. From the always-on menu, consider ordering lumpia to start, or wok-fried green beans, sizzling lechon sisig, or the sweet halo-halo for dessert, which comes with brunch-appropriate Fruity Pebbles on top.

For Boozy Brunches

For cocktails that don’t feel like an afterthought, this plant-filled Chamblee Mexican restaurant is the place to visit. Any of the well-crafted mezcal drinks, the short and smooth carajillo, or even a bright mimosa will shine alongside brunch fare like chilaquiles, steak tlayudas, tres leches French toast with cafe de olla cream, and the sweet blue corn hot cakes. Brunch is served seven days a week, so there’s no reason to wait until the weekend.

Kitty Dare has a lot going for it — beautiful space, transportive patio, and a great Mediterranean-accented brunch menu featuring stars like grits with shrimp and chorizo and the signature Kitty’s crab Benedict. And then there’s the bar. It stays open all day, long after the kitchen closes shop post-brunch, churning out winner after winner from the bloody Mary to the pistachio-forward spritz, plus whatever seasonal drinks are on offer.

For Kids

Take the fam to Cabbagetown for a brunch that spans influences in a restaurant where community is the center of everything. Along with a dinner menu and weekend brunch menu, there’s also a special dedicated kids menu. The inviting room has crayons for coloring at the table and plenty of games handy to keep guests of all ages occupied while enjoying dishes like shrimp-and-pork shumai, breakfast crunch wraps, scramble-stuffed arepas, and housemade “pop tarts” from the rotating regular menu.

Kids and their caregivers are welcome at Folk Art, where the extensive menu has a robust kid’s menu to match. The food here screams “diner classics but make them fun” — the hash browns are elite, the egg dishes are plenty, and there’s a pancake stack (or waffles or French toast) for every palate. The food arrives to the table quickly, so feel comfortable ordering appetizers like sweet potato doughnuts or mac and cheese balls without wondering if the little ones will get antsy.

While the restaurant is great for date night, diners with young children will be just as happy at brunch, where the kid’s menu is $10 and under with items like waffles, eggs and potatoes, and burgers that all come with sides (try the house applesauce). There’s plenty for parents on the menu, too, including one of the area’s best bloody marys. Families who enjoy people-watching should get a table in a booth by the window or on the spacious patio.

For Coffee

Pop into the General Muir for coffee and a bagel, cardamom bun, or cheese danish, or stay for longer and order from the full brunch menu, inspired by New York’s classic Jewish delis: gravlax platters, open-faced bagels loaded with smoked salmon or trout salad, and matzoh ball soup are all popular here. Try the fish and potatoes (nova and latkes, of course) or the pastrami and egg served with griddled rye, which, like all of the breads on offer, is made next door at TGM Bread.

Good to know: The General Muir does not take reservations for brunch, but it does take them for dinner. 

This sunny Midtown spot serves coffee and pastries every morning, but on weekends the menu expands beyond the guava pastelitos and egg-filled empanadas and medialuna. The arepa Benedict is a hit, and the rich rabanada is an iteration that any French toast lover needs to try. Wines from Argentina, Chile, and Uruguay are also on offer.

Named after the fire station once housed in the building, this new cafe from the Apt 4B team has a full coffee bar and a succinct menu of morning staples like avocado toast and pancakes, plus oxtail or wok-seared shrimp over grits. With a mix of two-tops and communal tables, folks are welcome to dine solo, with friends, or with their laptops.
