Indigo Marina

Newly added!
This neighborhood gem is the kind of place that’s great to stumble into for a fantastic smash burger and a cocktail. But plan ahead and take friends to order yourselves a feast of everything else: beet hummus and housemade pita, trout al pastor, and pink peppercorn Caesar salad with pumpernickel croutons are just a few options.

Yonsei Handrolls – Albany Albany
Newly added!
Dare we say, it’s the ideal hand roll bar — fresh fish, perfectly seasoned rice, and crisp nori — with options ranging from à la carte to “omaka-sets.” That’s no surprise coming from chef Kyle Itani (of Itani Ramen and Yonsei in Oakland), who also stacks the menu here with snacks (like duck tataki) that are exclusive to this location.
Jules Lower Haight
Newly added!
Chef Max Blachman-Gentile’s pizza pop-up has a permanent home, which means sourdough pies and seasonal stunners, on the regular. The Field of Dreams is a summer favorite with corn, sungolds, and Thai basil-serrano sauce, but there’s so much more than pizza — local art and killer desserts round out this thoughtful, flavor-packed spot.
Big Finish Wine Tavern Mission
Newly added!
Because this spot reminds us that wine should feel fun, not fussy. Wines on tap, all at perfect temperatures, make it ideal for a spontaneous date over trout dip and pappardelle with pork shoulder. Cozy touches, like cork-lined windows and vintage matchbooks, complete a homey space you’ll want to return to again and again.
side a Mission
Newly added!
By day, it’s all housemade donuts, espresso tonics, and soft serve spun with Coffee Movement’s signature blend. By night, gnocchi with short rib, bone marrow burgers, and a vinyl playlist curated as carefully as the wine list take over. Come for the food, stay for the sound.
Jilli – San Francisco Mission

Newly added!
This L.A. import is all about fusion done with swagger: Tear into chicken thigh bao, spicy rice cake fritters, honey butter chips, and tangy Korean wings, then throw back some orange wine or makgeolli from the deep beverage list. A leafy patio, neon hum, and ‘80s R&B on loop complete it all.

OLHSO House Downtown San Mateo
OLHSO gained an avid following with its high-tech food truck, and now, has leveled up with a luxe and expansive brick-and-mortar, fully fledged with all of the KBBQ fanfare. You can choose from a selection of all-encompassing barbecue experiences — classic, signature, pork, or seafood — but there’s also a generous menu of à la carte items to choose your own savory adventure.
Mijo Restaurant Corte Madera
Because the heart of Mijo’s menu is classic Spanish dishes, woven with influences from wood fire, the rotisserie, and a touch of California flair. That means you’ll find things like spit-roasted chicken basted in saffron-garlic butter, charred octopus with mojo rojo sauce, and paella, all served in a colorful and welcoming space.
Alora – San Ramon San Ramon
You can always expect a dynamic spread of dishes on the menu at Alora: green pea hummus, charred chicken wings, kofta, octopus souvlaki, and puffy pita straight from the oven. Luckily, the big, bright space is conducive to spreading out and trying it all — just don’t forget to try some of the Mediterranean-inspired cocktails.
North Beach Restaurant North Beach

Because it’s a highly anticipated reopening from a San Francisco OG: A neighborhood classic for over 50 years, North Beach Restaurant has pulled locals in for calamari salad, osso bucco, and papardelle with wild boar ragu. The main dining room stays buzzing with its dark wood floors and cozy banquettes, but the wine cellar room has a time and place (like when you’re more interested in your date than the scene).

Sirene Lake Merrit
From the team behind The Morris comes this seafood-focused spot, perfect for raw bar towers, plates of shrimp chorizo, duck-and-lobster mortadella charcuterie, cocktails on tap, and a wine list that’s fun to peruse. Whole roasted Petrale sole and super craggy fried chicken are the way to go, followed by a giant slice of chocolate cake.
Sushi Ai Redwood
Minimalist and almost monastic by design, Sushi Ai is where you’ll find beautifully prepared dishes made with ingredients from Japan and local purveyors. You might see things like braised ankimo (creamy monkfish liver) and ikura on a nori chip alongside pristine nigiri. Bonus: The in-house dry-aging fish program brings flavors to their peak.
Hapa Bistro San Bruno
This cozy 16-seater blends French, Japanese, and local flavors for fresh, light lunches and refined contemporary tasting menus at night. During the day, expect things like chicken cordon bleu or chirashi bowls; at night, the menu changes regularly, but you might see leek soup, trout with carrot salad and yuzu kosho, and pistachio cake with condensed milk ice cream.
Milos Meze Marina

One step inside Milos Meze’s blue doorway and you’re transported to a Mediterranean oasis. The colorful wall-to-wall murals, the dips and saganaki, avgolemono, and moussaka bring it all to life. Have some fun with the Greek wines and don’t forget the baklava before you leave.

Bar Jabroni Lower Haight
The shiny new sister spot to the acclaimed (and beloved) Palm City Wines in the Sunset is Bar Jabroni, billed as “a restaurant disguised as a bar.” As you should expect from owners Monica Wong and Dennis Cantwell, the vibes are fun and casual, but the beverage offerings are top-tier and the food (pillowy soft gnudi with taleggio fonduta, beef tartare with pickled onion) will surprise and delight you. Go with someone you like enough to share bites with; or meet someone new at the fun bar.
Fisch & Flore The Castro
It’s a new day for this iconic location in the Castro. Airy, streamlined, and more accessible than ever, you’ll find a seafood-focused menu with things like baked clams, smoked tuna tartare, and fried smelt. Plus, a fun wine list to pursue and some serious cocktail action.
RO Restaurant & Lounge Yountville

Thomas Keller’s newest addition to his Yountville collection is RO Restaurant & Lounge. Chef de cuisine Jeffery Hayashi is offering Asian-inspired cuisine with California twists, translating to dishes like uni toast, black truffle egg salad sandwich, and even shaved ice and mochi. Pro tip: Know that caviar is always an option.
