The Hit ListLondon

Where To Eat in September: 64 Goodge Street, Oeno Maris, Forza Wine, and More

By

Summer is dead — long live summer. A late glut of fine weather has seen Londoners embrace the last rays of the season, and while many have returned from their sentences on the Cote d’Azur or Greek Islands, the timing coincides with an interesting few weeks for London restaurants.

There’s the new, including a brand new French restaurant from the team behind Clipstone and The Quality Chop House, as well as a sashimi counter from a master fishmonger; a residency from legendary chef Rowley Leigh; and new hotel restaurants from the likes of Yannick Alleno and Tom Sellers. Independents are making noise too, with the arrival of Little Cellars in Camberwell (joining a neighbourhood stacked with dining and drinking options) as well as a newly invigorated Tendril, which has had a refurb and seen its status upgraded from long-term residency to, well, permanent. And then there’s the question of whether one focuses on the new, or catches the departing (The India Club, Le Gavroche, Sertac Dirik-edition Mangal 2) before their runs end.

There’s all that, and more, in September’s Hit List, with the latest and greatest in London restaurants.
