The Resy Guide to New Year’s Eve 2023 in London

The omakase tasting menus at this acclaimed Soho favourite have quickly become legendary, and to celebrate New Year’s Eve, chef Angelo Sato and his elite team are going all-0ut with a 12-course extravaganza for £145pp. Tickets here.

There’s a superb four-course menu with a complimentary cocktail being served up at Tendril in Mayfair, with highlights including grilled celeriac with apple and harissa and a mushroom and smoked potato pie, yours for £49pp. Tickets here.

Sophie’s in Soho is celebrating NYE with a glamorous four-course dinner with a live ‘casino’, arrival Martinis and dancing, as befits the stunning location inside a converted theatre. Tickets here.

NORTH LONDON

Sharing menu by chef Jake Finn and a glass of Champagne, £100 for the early slot (from 5pm), £120 for the later one (8pm) when there will be music and dancing. Dishes to include oysters, bonito vinegar, smoked caviar and shiso; Delica pumpkin, cashew cream, chimichurri; beef fillet and seared foie gras.

The first ever Top Cuvée NYE special will feature Champagne on arrival, a glitzy three-course French meal, party tunes, and a few surprises, all for £80. An opportunity to uncork something special from their well-stocked shelves.

Tickets to the Half Cut Market NYE party are £15 which covers entry for the night, a drink on arrival and free snacks. The 2am license is a bonus.

Chef James Cochran’s seeing in the New Year with an eight-course tasting menu. There’s Prosecco on arrival then onto dishes like Brussels sprout salad and XO, blue cheese doughnuts, and Jamaican jerk fried chicken.

The ‘Bienvenidos 2023’ menu is a spread of Spanish dishes like oysters with tiger’s milk, Ibérico ham croquetas, and glazed beef short rib. £45pp with a glass of cava. Two two-hour sittings, 6.30pm and 8.30pm.

EAST LONDON

Corks will be popping at Sune’s inaugural new year’s eve bash. Early bird seating, £55 for four courses. The late seating is £75 for six courses.

See in the New Year with Rogues. Six-courses, £80, with the option of a wine pairing at £60. To give you a taste of the menu, there’ll be Exmoor caviar and sour cream tart, rabbit bolognese with Westcombe cheddar and winter truffle, and Gigha halibut with smoked caper sauce.

Chris Leach has the Italian New Year speciality of cotechino with lentils (for good fortune) on the New Year’s sharing menu at Manteca. Also, house-cured salumi, strozzapreti alla norcina, Highland beef, chocolate pavlova, and more at £120 a person. Vegetarian menu available too.

Acme Fire Cult’s throwing a party with its sister site 40FT Brewery from 6pm. Tickets are £10 and include a complimentary glass of Moët. On the decks: Pam Hogg and Primal Scream’s Simone Butler. On the menu: lamb asador buns and chapa potatoes with Alpine cheese. Party in the yard until 2am.

They’re pushing the tables to one side for a proper party at newcomer Bambi. DJs and dancing, 8pm to 3am. Tickets £15 (via Resident Advisor).

A one-off seven course menu, £120. Lobster and scallop raviolo, vitello tonnato, chestnut meringue and more.

It’s nice and easy at this Victoria Park local this NYE. All they ask is £10 per person to secure a table, then everyone just picks from the menu, their luxiest yet. Think lobster, fries and Café de Paris butter, venison tartare, and Kahlua tiramisu. NYE menu available 12pm to 10pm.

SOUTH LONDON

This Georgian mansion in Vauxhall is a suitably glamorous setting in which to see in the New Year. Four-course dinner in the restaurant, bar and vault room, £90 (service inc.). Live music and drinks until 1am (last call 12.30am). Bookings from 5pm for groups of all sizes.

Secure your spot at Little Kudu, for inventive, South African-inspired cooking in Peckham. The menu’s £55 for Fine de Claire oysters, cured stone bass, pommes Anna and more.

Dive into a wood-fired Spanish feast from the team behind Barrafina to ring in the New Year. Optional wine tasting plus vegan menu offered.

£92pp for a selection of snacks, three courses, petits fours, and a glass of South African sparkling wine on arrival. Dishes include ‘magwinya’ doughnut, black pudding and burnt apple; pig’s head tortellini, hay bone broth and smoked cheddar; and braised venison shoulder.

Where better to see in New Year than on the river? Gunpowder Tower Bridge is doing a £45 set menu with some fun add-ons.

£92pp for a selection of snacks, three courses, petits fours and a glass of fizz on arrival. The South African braii-inspired menu includes tempura oysters, grilled potato flatbread with coppa and wild garlic, and chateaubriand with onion treacle bordelaise.

Upstairs at the Rose and Crown in Clapham it’s going to be a glam one with a £65 three-course menu involving butter-poached halibut with Champagne beurre blanc and mallard with caramelised endive, foie gras and duck fat brioche.

WEST LONDON

Celebrate NYE with a six-course menu in a Michelin-starred restaurant, £140 or £195 with wines. Menu highlights: “Cheese and Pickle”, “Lobster and Caviar”, and “Rhubarb and Custard”.

Choose four courses from the £125 menu. Perhaps tartare of aged fillet of beef with a Burford Brown yolk or double-baked cave-aged cheddar soufflé with buttered leeks.
