New on Resy: 8ARM, Politan Row at Colony Square, Nagomiya, and More

Find expertly-prepared sushi in this funky, slightly industrial Virginia-Highland hot spot. Executive chef Hiro Endo and his team offer traditional nigiri as well as rolls with fun twists, like the avocado toast. Meanwhile, beverage director Joshua Fryer keeps the wine list stacked with sake from small scale brewers as well as plenty of rosé and other delights.

At this elegant food hall, you won’t want to miss out on a chance to book the Chef’s Table where, for $40, you’ll dine on a multi-course meal with tableside, personalized service, all curated by Politan Row’s very own culinary team. Or head to Jojo’s Beloved Cocktail Lounge where you’ll feel like you’ve been transported back to the disco era as you sip on Sagitarian Sours and other classics, all with a playlist that’s heavy on Barry White, Diana Ross, and Prince.

Start with the lobster ravioli, which isn’t just pasta stuffed with lobster. It’s that, and it’s served with scallops and a half tail of Maine lobster, too. Order it alongside a pizza and you’ll see why Modena, with its approachable atmosphere, is creating a quite a buzz in West Cobb.

Chef Scotley Innis brings his culinary panache to this chic locale in Chamblee. The menu draws inspiration from African and Caribbean cuisines, so expect big flavors and beautiful plating. Dishes such as the tamarind wings and the fried whole snapper are standouts. There’s also a cigar lounge which is first come, first served (unless you happen to be a member).

From the same team behind Wagaya and Chirori, Nagomiya is a restaurant where chef and sushi specialist Ryotarou Yamamoto takes his previous experiences at Shoya Izakaya and Umi to new heights in a setting befitting its name (Nagomiya translates to “house of tranquility”). Don’t sleep on the sushi or the decadent lobster ramen.

Come with the kids, or come with friends — Big Oak Tavern in historic Roswell is well-suited for either. The interior is tastefully appointed, but outside is the place to be, with plenty of shade under the red umbrellas. Brunch is especially grand, with plenty of comfort food options to choose from (mmm, chicken and waffles) and live music on the patio.

Splashy yellow umbrellas and palm fronds galore — you might think you’ve been transported to Miami but you’re actually in West Midtown Atlanta. Enjoy Latin American-inspired dishes like ceviche and grilled steak with chimichurri and, yes, tropical drinks in an alfresco atmosphere. Pro tip: Don’t skip the watermelon margarita, which is as refreshing as it is fit for Instagram.

When you go to Cru, located in Castelberry Hill, you know you’re in for a fun night. From the lush aesthetics to the lively dance floor, it’s always a good time. Cru’s thing is hookah, but there are also plenty of “Cru Tails” to sip on and small bites to enjoy when you’ve worked up an appetite.

Niki Pattharakositkul opened the first 26 Thai Kitchen in 2016 and she introduced Atlantans to the Thai food that she grew up with. The Brookhaven location is the first of the Thai 26 family to offer those same Thai dishes, as well as sushi and sashimi. The interior is beautifully designed (think rattan meets industrial) but there’s also a spacious patio if that’s more your speed.
