Who Goes There: Jocelyn Law-Yones of Thamee.
What To Get: Law-Yones likes everything on the menu, but must-orders include the laab (minced meat salad), naem khao (crispy coconut rice), and crispy pig ears.
Chef Jojo’s Pro Tip: Don’t sleep on the cocktails.

Pho Viet

Pho Viet, Columbia Heights’ resident pho peddler, where the deeply flavored broth reigns supreme.
Who Goes There: Jocelyn Law-Yones of Thamee.
What To Get: Pho of course! The noodles, soup, and toppings are all packaged separately for takeout, for best at-home slurping.

Cane

Cane, a stunning love letter to the Caribbean, run by brother-and-sister duo Peter and Jeanine Prime.
Who Goes There: Reid Shilling, the chef and owner at Shilling Canning Company and Erik Bruner-Yang.
What They Get: Shilling always bets on Cane’s snapper escovitch for two, “a cacophony of heat, flavor, and herbs” that just happens to travels very well. For Bruner-Yang, it’s the smoked jerk chicken wings all the way.

Indigo

Indigo, an Indian restaurant where the homestyle dishes are pulled from generations’ worth of family recipes.
Who Goes There: Andrew Dana, co-owner at a trifecta of exciting neighborhood restaurants — Mercy Me, Timber Pizza Co., and Call Your Mother Deli.
What He Gets: Vegetable samosas to start, followed by the Paradise platter with cauliflower and potatoes.

Cielo Rojo

What He Gets: The fish tacos, which according to Dana are “delicious, light, and craveable.”

What He Gets: The salmon kebabs from the wood grill, with a pomegranate and labneh marinade. “The salmon is cooked perfectly,” says Dana. “You don’t need a knife; it falls apart. It’s a must-try.”
