The Resy Guide to Heated Patios and Cozy Outdoor Tables in San Francisco

Good food and good vibes come from the Shawns (Shawn Naputi and Shawn Camacho) of Prubechu, San Francisco’s only Guamanian restaurant. They’ve transformed their parking lot into an outdoor patio with picnic tables spaced out, contactless ordering and payment, good lighting, and chill music.

Home to some of the pizza in town, Del Popolo quietly has a big backyard setup, and it feels like a hidden treasure: You’re surrounded by tall buildings and green plants and trees and canopies. It feels almost like New York in San Francisco. And of course, there’s pizza.

Let Mourad Lahlou’s modern Moroccan fare keep you warm at the Outer Richmond’s Aziza. He’s got eight fully separated booths and well-distanced tables on 22nd Avenue with individual heaters.

Chefs Thomas McNaughton and Ryan Pollnow built their parklet themselves — and they did such a good job that it feels like it’s been part of the restaurant the whole time. Lights draping over the trees and space heaters in between each table truly warm up the corner of 20th and Harrison.

There aren’t many rooftops in San Francisco, but Montesacro has a cute and cozy one where you can dine on pinsas al fresco. They’ve also setup chairs outside on Stevenson, and on Thursdays have live musicians performing.

Mister Jiu’s has added a bit of extra color to Chinatown with a neon green parklet along Waverly in Chinatown. Cool, modern, spherical table lights juxtaposed to the hanging red lanterns sets a perfect and picturesque scene to dine on Brandon Jew’s modern Chinese fare.

Though there may not be heat lamps on Rich Table’s Hayes Valley parklet, they have an enclosed patio with separate booths and provide single use blankets to keep you warm. Excellent hospitality meeets porcini doughnuts with warm raclette sauce.

Al’s Place’s beautiful blue parklet features dividers between each booth, and a heater per table. Perfect to keep you warm through their tasting menu, which is definitely the move here.

The view and scene doesn’t get much better than eating expertly cooked sea creatures while staring at the moon over the Bay Bridge outside Angler on the Embarcadero. They’ve got heaters to keep you warm, too.

The SoMa Mexican spot — which also hosts exciting pop-ups like Eko Kitchen and the Lumpia Kitchen — has a massive, covered patio, with heat lamps.

Home to natural wine and some of the finest casual food in the area, Verjus has an outdoor set-up than leans into the French bistro style with round tables, an ample amount of heaters, and plenty of foliage. Pro tip: Look into the Verjus wine club.
