New on Resy: Kin Khao Dogpatch, Town Hall, Hog Island Oyster Co, Marlena, and More

Pim Techamuanvivit has opened a second location of her excellent, Michelin-starred Thai restaurant Kin Khao. At this Dogpatch outpost, there’s ample outdoor patio seating with an abbreviated menu of the restaurant’s greatest hits that you’ve missed during the pandemic: the Isaan-style nam tok, khao soi, the signature Pretty Hot Wings, and more.

Excellent Southern fare is yours to be had from Mitch Rosenthal’s newly reopened SoMa anchor. Benton’s country ham to start, crispy fried chicken with a collard green side, and a chocolate pot de crème to finish is just one excellent order for Town Hall’s sizable outdoor patio.

Xiao long bao (a.k.a. XLB, a.k.a. soup dumplings) are quite good, but sheng jian bao (a.k.a. SJB, a.k.a. hot and juicy pan-fried dumplings) might be better. Decide for yourself at China Live, open for takeout, delivery, and al fresco dining on Broadway.

Husband and wife David Fisher and Serena Chow’s charming new restaurant is open for outdoor dining, right across from Precita Park. Every evening, they offer a $49 four-course prix-fixe menu, with two choices in each category, from corn agnolotti with dehydrated tomato to a lacquered pork collar with butter beans and chanterelles.

There’s not much better than slurping bright briny oysters while overlooking the Bay Bridge at the Ferry Building’s Hog Island Oyster Co. But should you find yourself in Napa or Marshall, they’ve got your bivalve fix for you, too.

Small stuzzichini snacks, vege-forward antipasti, perfect pasta, and large meaty entrees is all the Italian you need to know at Altovino, which is also home to one of the better wine lists on the north side of town.

A menu of regional Mexican fare from the Nido folks, paired with mezcal-based cocktails in a beautiful, colorful, and massive backyard patio? Yes, please.

Beer, wine, and especially cocktails — have one or have them all at the Divisadero bar. But don’t sleep on the food situation, either: Duck fat fries to pair are a always good call.

Fine wine with fun FOOD pairings like cabernet sauvignon grilled cheese are yours to be had here at Cultivar. Brunch on the weekend, and the big bonus: a fireplace to help keep things lit.

Sometimes you need to treat yourself, especially during these times. A farm lunch from Michael Tusk of Quince is a good way to do so. Quince is currently offering its tasting menus outside at Fresh Run Farm in Bolinas, or McEvoy Ranch in the hills of Marin County.

Montesacro is here for your rustic Italian vibes — and your pinsa fix. If you’re unfamiliar, pinsa is a Roman flatbread similar to pizza except lighter, airier, and oval-shaped. They’re topped deliciously, and there’s also a selection of salads and salumi and even dessert pinsa topped with Nutella and pistachio butter to round out the meal.

Tres has transformed into Merkado, offering an outdoor patio with a menu centered around tacos and margaritas. Choose from al pastor, panko-breaded pollo, carnitas, and rajas versions. There are also carne asada skewers, hamburguesas, and other many other cocktails if that’s more your mood.
