19 Independent Restaurants to Help Out in London This September

By

Designed to help support the British hospitality and restaurant industry, the government’s Eat Out to Help Out initiative encouraged diners to return to dining rooms and terraces across the capital. Despite the scheme ending in August, many restaurants in London have opted to continue to offer a discount for diners on their own dime — some of the best of which we’ve listed here. As a diner, all you have to do is turn up, and the discount (most commonly 50%, up to £10 on food and soft drinks; see individual restaurant terms for more info) will be taken off the bill at the end.

Unlike the August initiative, which was funded by the government, it’s worth bearing in mind that each discount here is offered by an individual restaurant — so ordering a couple of extra dishes or a glass of wine will go away a long way to helping your favourite businesses’ bottom line. Be sure to observe any and all COVID-19 safety precautions; wash your hands, wear a mask as necessary, and tip generously.
