Resy Joins Forces with Happy Cooking Hospitality to Bring Beloved Local Restaurants from Around the World to NYC for a 10-Dinner Monthly Series

NEW YORK (Feb. 19, 2019) — Resy and restaurateur Gabriel Stulman are pleased to announce The Neighborhood, a brand new dining series that brings the best neighborhood restaurants from around the world to NYC for exclusive, one-night-only dinners each month. From March through December diners will have the rare chance to experience the food and good tidings of beloved spots from Seattle to Hong Kong, Paris to New Orleans, Tel Aviv to Montreal, and beyond – all without traveling further than Flatiron.

The series was the brainchild of Stulman, who likes to travel to and dine at the types of fun, casual, high design and service- oriented restaurants he and his Happy Cooking family have created over the last decade in NYC. Stulman knew Resy would be the perfect partner to help bring the series to life.

The collaborative roster reflects restaurants that have spirit and soul, over stars. They are part of the fabric of their city, and reflective of the place they inhabit and the people they serve. *Full schedule below.

Stulman explains, “I love travelling and when I travel, I dine – that’s how I like to discover a city.  These restaurants all have a sense of place that make them iconic. When you’re sitting in their dining rooms, you know what city you’ve travelled to.  They’re exactly the kind of restaurants I gravitate to when I’m away from home, and they’re all so good, it makes me jealous. We’re really excited to have them cooking in our home and to be able share them with our neighbors, our friends and our city.”

“Everyone at Resy, myself included, is extremely excited about this new dinner series,” says Ben Leventhal, Resy CEO and co-founder. “There are so many events centered on fine dining, which we love as well, but few that celebrate the magic of neighborhood gems. These are the places that help us feel grounded in New York City, and like a local when traveling. Gabriel and his Happy Cooking Hospitality team are the perfect partners to bring these special spots to NYC, given their unmatched talent for creating neighborhood institutions and their personal relationships with similar talents around the world.”

Simon & The Whale at the Freehand Hotel New York will be the backdrop for these collaborative dinners which kick off Thursday, March 14th with James Beard Award winning chef Renee Erickson’s The Walrus and The Carpenter (Seattle). Evenings will begin with cocktails at Studio, followed by a multi-course menu at Simon & The Whale.

Tickets are available for purchase through Resy (on the app or Resy.com) for $150/person. A limited number of “Neighborhood Hero” season passes are available for $2,000 per person and includes tickets to all 10 dinners. General ticket sales via Resy begin Wednesday, February 20th at 9am ET.
