Global Dining Access by Resy Launches as New Dining Benefit for American Express Premium Card Members

Eligible Card Members Unlock Special Access to Some of the Most Sought-After Restaurants and Enjoy Key Perks like Priority Notify, Exclusive Reservations and Member-Only Events

NEW YORK (July 1, 2021): Starting today, U.S. American Express Platinum Card Members and other premium Consumer, Business and Corporate Card Members can take advantage of Global Dining Access by Resy, a new program that unlocks special access to some of the most sought-after restaurants from within the Resy iOS App and Resy.com. Global Dining Access by Resy launches alongside the refreshed Consumer Platinum Card, which is expanding its premium benefits and services across key lifestyle areas including dining.

“When Resy joined American Express two years ago, we wanted to create a dining platform with unmatched access to top restaurants around the world for our premium Card Members,” said Howard Grosfield, Executive Vice President and General Manager, US Consumer & Global Premium Services. “Global Dining Access brings that promise to life.”

Global Dining Access by Resy comes at the time when more and more Card Members feel comfortable dining out again. In fact, in May American Express saw Card Member dining spending up to 85 percent of May 2019 levels globally.

“Global Dining Access was designed to deliver what we know passionate diners care most about: getting into great restaurants at prime times,” said Alex Lee, Vice President and General Manager, Resy & the American Express Global Dining Network. “By combining the power of both brands, Resy’s best-in-class restaurant network, and technology we believe we have created an offering that is unmatched in the industry.”

Card Members can enjoy their Global Dining Access benefits by linking an eligible American Express Card to their Resy account. The benefits include:

  • Priority Notify at all Resy restaurants: Resy’s signature Notify feature lets diners sign up to receive an alert if a table they are interested in is not available. If that table becomes available, the diner receives a push notification. With Priority Notify, Global Dining Access members are alerted first, so they have the opportunity to book the table before other Resy users.
  • Exclusive Reservations: Primetime tables held at sought-after restaurants, exclusively for Global Dining Access members. Look for the purple reservation slots, only visible to members. Card Members can also call the American Express Concierge for assistance with restaurant reservations.
  • VIP Diner Badge: A VIP badge gets added to a member’s Resy profile, denoting their special status. This badge is visible at the restaurant level so restaurants know which diners are part of Global Dining Access.
  • Member-Only Events and Pre-Sale Access: Members can purchase tickets to high-profile chef dinners, curated culinary experiences and virtual cooking classes, as well get access to pre-sales for other Resy events.

The Global Dining Access Restaurant Collection

More than 100 of Resy’s most popular restaurants and many of the most-requested Platinum Concierge restaurants are part of the Global Dining Access collection, including: Carbone (NYC), Don Angie (NYC), Via Carota (NYC), Le Bernardin (NYC), Jon & Vinny’s (LA), Saison (SF), the restaurants of Nancy Silverton (LA), Mike Solomonov (Philadelphia), Christopher Kostow (Napa), Mashama Bailey (Savannah), Nina Compton (New Orleans) and more. Global Dining Access Events

According to recent data from the Amex Trendex1, nearly half of consumers surveyed say that they are willing to spend more on unique dining experiences than they were before the pandemic. That’s why Global Dining Access includes events created just for members, from intimate dinners to luxury pop-ups featuring the program’s top chef talents, and pre-sale access to Resy programming. Upcoming summer and fall experiences exclusively for Global Dining Access members will be announced soon.

Global Dining Access Eligible Cards

As of July 1, 2021, Global Dining Access is an available benefit for card members with any of the following American Express cards: Platinum Card®, Business Platinum Card®, Corporate Platinum Card®, Delta SkyMiles® Reserve American Express Card, Delta SkyMiles® Reserve Business American Express Card, Hilton Honors American Express Aspire and other cards (see Global Dining Access Terms and Conditions).
