Amanda Albee

Dallas Contributor

Amanda is a diehard reservationist and donut fanatic with a freelance writing career that includes coverage of congressional spending packages for meatpacking plants, lawsuits against the USDA, and where to find the best Punjabi dhabas between Texas and Oklahoma. She grew up with restaurant people, from staff Christmas parties at her grandfather’s bar to her first job waitressing at a truck stop diner off Route 66 in Oklahoma. She has spent most of her life in Dallas, consuming a lot of Tex Mex, and she has also partaken in an innumerable amount of arepas de huevo and pão de queijo during her years living in Cartagena and Rio de Janeiro. She is currently seeking someone who’ll hire her to write the next New York Times best-selling book about the world of food and drinks, as she sees it.

São Paulo, Montreal, and Houston — in that order.
