Adele's Pick:
“I should gatekeep this but, you will definitely find me at Fig Italian for happy hour for $6 glasses of wine and $10 Margherita pizza.”
This month …
Let this be your inspiration to break free from your regular spots: There’s Italian food and a stacked raw bar with a Texas twist on South Lamar (with a sister restaurant in North Austin), and head up to Georgetown to experience a historic building with Southern-style seafood. Plus, a downtown Austin lounge with infused drinks and curated events.
Georgie's Georgetown
New opening!
Whether you’re checking out Blue Hole Park, Southwestern University, or just need an excuse to get out of Austin, Georgetown is a historic town with a growing food scene. Georgie’s is the perfect spot to sit at the bar for cocktails and oysters, or snag a table for a full Southern-style meal heavy on the seafood. There’s a neighborhood feel to the restaurant, but don’t be fooled — everything is upscale from the cocktails to the service.
Fig Italian South Lamar
Located below an apartment complex on South Lamar, this upscale Italian spot serves handmade pastas with ingredients from local farms. Like their other restaurant Cedro Scratch Italian & Wine Bar, you can count on hearty and creative plates that make for a romantic dinner. And though they are most known for their pastas, we highly recommend taking advantage of the happy hour deals and saving room for dessert.
Sweet Sensi Lounge Downtown
If you’re confused by Austin’s policies on hemp-derived products, you’re not alone. Luckily, the team at Sweet Sensi know how to create TX-approved cocktails using CBD and THC, as well as ones with good old fashioned alcohol. Be sure to chat with the bartenders to figure out which drink and which potency is best for you, and don’t miss their desserts. Plus, they host events throughout the year with live music and cocktail tastings, so be sure to keep checking the calendar.
