The Resy Hit List: Where In Austin You’ll Want to Eat Right Now

By

There’s no question we hear more often: Where should I go eat? And while we at Resy know it’s an honor to be the friend who everyone asks for restaurant advice, we also know it’s a complicated task. That’s where the Resy Hit List comes in.

We’ve designed it to be your essential resource for dining in and around Austin: a monthly-updated (and newly expanded!) guide to the restaurants in that you won’t want to miss — tonight or any night.

Four Things In Austin Not to Miss This Month

  • New on Barton Springs: A new modern Chinese restaurant from New York chefs Simone Tong and Matthew Hyland. Please meet Zoe Tong, with noodle dishes and smoked meats, as well as tiki cocktails, sake, beer, and wine. Make a Resy here for dinner soon, or plan ahead for Lunar New Year.
  • Cast Your Chili Vote: Head to the Hotel San Jose parking lot for the 17th Annual Jo’s Chili Cook-Off on February 4. In addition to testing and voting on the best chili Austin has to offer, there will be live music and proceeds benefit Free Lunch Austin.
  • V-Day Inspo: In case your significant other hasn’t already blocked your calendar, Valentine’s Day falls on a Wednesday this year. Grab a Resy now — for instance, at Buenos Aires Cafe, which is hosting a 4-course wine dinner. Book it now.
  • Zest For Zero-Proof: Taking Dry January into February? Sans Bar is open every Friday on Congress Ave serving zero-proof cocktails, while Dear Dry Drinkery is a bottle shop that sells everything you need to make NA cocktails at home. If you’re leaving the dry-ness in the rear view? We’ve got plenty of suggestions for wet February.

New to the Hit List (Feb. 2024)
Mattie’s, Suerte, Eldorado Cafe, Fresa’s, Trona, Qui Austin, Joe’s Bakery and Coffee Shop, Nixta Taqueria, Home Slice, Stiles Switch Barbecue.
