The 10 Restaurants That Defined Charleston Dining in 2022

By

In a strong year for dining, what were the absolute standouts?  We asked our contributors to the Resy Hit List to share their top 10 dining experiences from this year in their city — restaurants and meals that left an impression, and helped to define the state of American dining right now. Please welcome back our Best of The Hit List for 2022. (You can find other cities’ top picks here.)

This year saw some of Charleston’s departed O.G. favorites returning to put down new roots, like at Vern’s, and local favorites trying new things, like at Rancho Lewis, all while new energy from spots like Chasing Sage and Bar Rollins pumped curious eaters and drinkers to find some new favorites.

Next year already has several promising projects on the way. Shuai and Corrie Wang, of Jackrabbit Filly, will continue fine-tuning their upcoming spot, King BBQ, and The Quinte, recently opened steps from King Street, is dialing in with seafood towers and creative cocktails.

But for now, finish out 2022 with 10 of our favorite spots from the past year, the ones that defined dining in the Holy City.
