The Resy Hit List: Where In Houston You’ll Want to Eat Right Now

By

There’s no question we hear more often: Where should I go eat? And while we at Resy know it’s an honor to be the friend who everyone asks for restaurant advice, we also know it’s a complicated task. That’s where the Resy Hit List comes in.

We’ve designed it to be your essential resource for dining in Houston: a monthly-updated (and newly expanded!) guide to the restaurants in that you won’t want to miss — tonight or any night.

Four Things In Houston Not to Miss This Month

  • Live-Fire Fare: Chefs Jacques Varon and Max Lappe like to describe their new Heights restaurant, BASO, as being a “Houston-driven restaurant that’s just a little bit Basque.” The Spanish-kissed dishes are crafted from mostly local ingredients, and nearly all are cooked using Baso’s wood-fired grill. For something light, snag a seat at the bar and enjoy a selection of small bites (pickled porcinis and pan con tomate among them) alongside a drink. Book here, and find more openings in New On Resy.
  • Pretty In Pink: There’s simply no missing PostScript, the modern American restaurant overseen by acclaimed chef Brian Caswell that debuted at the Shops at Arrive River Oaks in February — mainly because the building’s exterior is painted bright pink and adorned in 3D butterflies. Guests will find more of the same vibrant aesthetic inside, not to mention plush seating, an illuminated bar, and a “press for Champagne” doorbell at each booth. More bubbles? Don’t mind if we do. Book here.
  • Rodeo Queens: On March 16, Chapman & Kirby’s dependably fabulous monthly Queen Brunch gets a Western makeover in honor of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo (on through March 17 and itself a food lover’s destination). For $35 per person, guests can indulge in an expansive brunch buffet while being regaled with lip syncing, dancing, and comedy shticks by the city’s most dazzling drag performers. The event is 21+. Book here, and find more fun experiences on Resy’s Events page.
  • Choices, Choices: The newly opened Conservatory Galleria might look familiar to some folks of a certain age. That’s because the three-level food hall is housed in the massive space that once belonged to Houston’s famed Roxy nightclub. Diners will have their pick of 11 vendors serving up a variety of cuisines, including: Bird Haus, Blk Mkt Birria, Clutch City Grill, Cvche Kitchen, La Taquiza Street Tacos, Luv’em Leches, The Pita-Ria, Rollin’ Phatties, Seoulside Wings, Thrive Juices, and Wokker. Two bar concepts round out the room.
