The Resy Hit List: Where In Detroit You’ll Want to Eat in April 2024

By

There’s no question we hear more often: Where should I go eat? And while we at Resy know it’s an honor to be the friend who everyone asks for restaurant advice, we also know it’s a complicated task. That’s where the Resy Hit List comes in.

We’ve designed it to be your essential resource for dining in and around Detroit: a monthly-updated (and newly expanded!) guide to the restaurants in that you won’t want to miss — tonight or any night.

Four Things In Detroit Not to Miss This Month

  • NFL Draft: It’s set to take place at Campus Martius Park and Hart Plaza from April 25-27, and local businesses are gearing up for the surge in visitors.
    • Eatori Market has recently reopened with an expanded capacity and menu offering, acquiring the neighboring space, formerly the Ten Nail Bar.
    • For those staying at the Shinola Hotel, San Morello delivers wood-fired dishes from Southern Italy. Meanwhile, visitors staying at the new Godfrey Hotel can enjoy rooftop views with a cocktail at I|O, after a meal at Hamiltons. At The Siren Hotel, guests can immerse themselves in the retro diner vibes of Ash—Bar, or sip on crafted cocktails at the Candy Bar.
    • In Corktown, McShanes is setting up an outdoor tent equipped with extra TVs. Free shuttles will transport people around Corktown and directly to the draft entrance.
  • Beef Primal Butchery Workshop: Learn how to break a chuck primal into sub-primals and then into case-ready cuts or trim for grinding. Everything is about beef at Marrow’s butchery workshop on April 10th. And don’t forget to add on chuck primal steaks! Options include Denver, flat iron, teres major, and more.
  • Opening Day: As the Tigers kick off their season at Comerica Park on April 5 with a three-game series against Oakland, fans can delight in an array of local vendors within the stadium. Green Dot Stables serves their famous sliders at the Meijer Market (section 143), Taqueria El Ray offers delicious tacos at the Miller Lite Market (section 149), and speaking of Marrow, they’re debuting in the stadium at The Corner Tap Room with a special menu that highlights their burger patties and sausages. And over at Comerica Big Cat Court, fans can feast on specialties from National Coney Island, Detroit 75 Kitchen, and Bert’s Marketplace.
  • Motor City Mimosas: Spring means brunch, so explore a diverse array of excellent spots. Perhaps as important, explore their mimosas.
    • At Bar Pigalle, savor French-inspired delights, including cinnamon brioche French toast, croque madame, and the indulgent Pigalle burger.
    • At Olin, an American brasserie, relish fresh-squeezed mimosas paired with savory paella fried rice and sweet s’mores French toast.
    • Always check our brunch collection for more inspo.
